Happy Halloween! I don't even need a costume to feel like a zombie. :coffee::coffee::coffee: After spending pretty much the entire weekend in front of my computer, working on a grant, I wish I could have a day to just lay in front of the TV and catch up on my sleep. But, the good news is that the grant is submitted and I was able to at least cross that off of my to-do list.

The cats are all doing well. Last night, Mandarin once again made it into the lagoon - that seems to be his new nightly routine. Iris is continuing to eat well, but you can tell that she is still not feeling like her normal self. She has no interest in playing with Flora and would happily sleep all day if her sister let her. Flora is still hopeful that Iris will play and she keeps bringing her toys and bugging her. Luckily, she is able to run off some of her energy on the cat wheel - here she is doing her morning exercise. I just wish her energy was contagious....

Nice to see everyone is doing pretty good! Still a good sign that Iris is eating but sending more vines and prayers she starts playing again soon. Love Flora on the kitty wheel...that is super cute.

Ah how cute is Flora on that wheel? Sometimes I feel like I'm on one of those wheels.....going and going and not getting anywhere:rolleyes:
Hopefully Iris feels better soon!

Flora is super cute on the cat wheel! Poor Iris is clearly very sensitive. :( Hopefully she'll keep rallying and get better step by step.

I love your bookend synchronized boys. I'm glad Mandarin is coming down to high greens. It would be nice if they would both dip their toes in the lagoon during the day.

Good luck getting through the day. Hopefully you'll be able to sleep soundly tonight, surrounded by fur heaters.

Flora on the wheel is WAY too cute!! It does sound like Iris is improving, just a little slowly. It is awesome that her appy is back on track. Poor baby...our prayers continue!!

I didn't know there such things as a cat wheel. Did it take long for Flora to use it?

No, not at all. Iris was the first one to try it. She weighed less that 2 pounds when she started walking on the giant wheel - and I think she was able to move it through sheer willpower. But Flora now likes it too. As for my adult cats, that's a different story. The two that could really use the exercise (Mandarin and Walter) just look at it like it is the craziest thing they have ever seen. They are probably still wondering why their bean spent so much money on a stupid wheel when she could have just bought treats instead. Capone will use it... as long as I am holding a treat in front of his face (which kind of defies the purpose).

...I also finally weighed Iris today: she is down to 3 pounds and 14 ounces. I knew she had lost weight, I just didn't realize it was that much (she was 5 pounds at the day of her surgery). A healthy 6-month-old kitten should weigh about 6 pounds... so she definitely has a lot of catching up to do.

Good news is that she is back to being excited about food. I am glad that I was able to run home for lunch - it was just a long day at work and then I still had to go back for another meeting. But each time I walked into the house, Iris greeted me and was meowing for food. So happy to see her like that again!

Well, I have the sinking feeling that those numbers at PMPS might mean that we are in for another active cycle. Walter is dropping late in the cycle and Mandarin didn't come up much despite all the stress of Halloween. ...and all I want is 8 hours of sleep.

Hope your evening isn't too crazy. But, movement is good.

Poor Iris. And how sweet that Flora brings her toys to entice her. What a cute video! Do the older cats use the wheel?

Here we have it: a big drop by +2. Glad the boys are doing well on their doses, I just wish their timing was a bit better.

I think I might try sleep for an hour... they had a snack and I can barely keep my eyes open.

...and much to Flora's delight, Mandarin played with her for a while. :cat:

Love that video!! I always wondered about the wheels! I've never had a place big enough but have drooled over them at the PetExpos!
Hope you get some much needed rest!:bighug::bighug:
