Just started testing on Friday . I have not done a curve as of yet . Been sick and this was the best i could do for now. 1:00 am 251.. dosed her at 1 unit. Per suggestion of message board. 1:00 pm 361 . Shot 1mg. 8:30pm +6 128. today 1:00 am preshot. 329 shot.. 1mg .... 2pm preshot352 shot . 1mg. +6 168. . Should the amount of insulin be increased. Do I have to do a curve before that. When I do a curve is that testing every 2 or 3 hrs for twelve hrs or 24.?

Good for you for testing! That's the way to keep your kitty safe, regardless of what your vet says. These numbers look fine for now. You don't need to change the insulin dose right now. When you do a full curve, we recommend testing before the shot and every 2 hours (or every 3 hours if you can't manage every 2) through the 12 hour cycle up to and including the next pre-shot.

We can help you with advice more easily if you set up a spreadsheet according to the instructions here:

There are techies on here to help with that if you need it. Until you have a spreadsheet set up it's easier to see your data if you put it all in a vertical column as follows:
Yesterday:
AMPS 251
AM dose 1.0 u
PMPS 361
PM dose 1.0 u
I don't really understand the sequence of the other data here. You'll have to clarify.
Today:
AMPS 329
AM dose 1.0 u
PMPS 352 (one hour late)
PM dose 1.0 u
+6 168

Is the above correct? You seem to be dosing AM very early and PM mid-day. Is this to accommodate your work schedule? It's also best to give shots as close to 12 hours apart as possible.

This schedule is because I needed help with giving her the insulin. I would like to move her time eventually. I can do it by myself now. I haven't gotten a curve on her yet . Been sick all weekend . My son is going to do set up the spreadsheet this week.

You're doing all the right things and you've come to the right place for help and support. I think you'll find that the spreadsheet is a very good tool to help you track Lizzie's patterns. She's already doing well. :)
