Smoky went to get an ultrasound done yesterday. The vet called with the results and said that he had quite a bit of inflammation. She said his allergies could be causing this in his bowels, his liver and pancreas are also affected. The vet said he can't have steroids due to the diabetes. Does anyone have any ideas on what else I could give him? His new vet is hoping switching to Lantus will help with this issue. However, I have to wait until Sunday to start him on it. She says I need to be able to observe him all day and do a curve.
The problem is that smoky is very underweight and it is hard to find a food that he can eat with his food allergies. All of the FF, Friskies and Nine Lives food has chicken or poultry by products in their ingredients. The weruva and tiki cat food he can eat but doesn't like much. I am so frustrated right now.
