Yesterday, or rather last night, someone decided to really work this dose. A little too close to the line for my comfort, so I took the fat off the dose. I have the suspicion that the SRT might be kicking in again. At least that's what I hope it is.

Another gray rainy day. The solarium got a brief visit, but not for long. Da bean guessed right, first choice of fuds was acceptable. I wonder what she'll want tonight?

Late condo, I am starting to get things ready for our big weekend trip to Victoria. Neko has never been on he big ferry before. Lots to pack this time, meds and fluids included. I am working on making a couple of oar bags for our new oars to travel in.

Vines to all in need today, hugs to those with recent losses of furry friends.

Good job on the first guess! Go easy on mama bean tonight and do that again sweet girl. I peaked at her SS earlier and saw that 50

Better to be well prepared ,check and double check again. Hope she enjoys the ferry ride and it's not too long of a trip.

Well, little girl. Excellent taste on first food choice acceptance this morning. Maybe that could become habit?

Exciting on the trip! Neko....you'll be on the water one way or another. Travel safe, calm, and enjoy!

Good girl, Neko! We are all proud of you. Keep on eatin' yer fuds (the first can is always the best)!

Is there a regatta in Victoria this weekend? Your getting ready for a trip with Neko reminds me of getting Rusty's stuff together for a trip. Not simple, that's for sure. And you have all those meds besides the insulin!

Have a great evening,

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) - Two races this weekend, Head of the Gorge and Tail of the Gorge. The Head requires you to go through a narrow tidal flow to get to the start. Google the name of the regatta to see some people having fun making it through. It's on the list of "must do" regattas and will be my first time. The race ends in the Victoria harbour.

Neko's meds/supplements packing list: insulin, test kit, syringes, bag, line, needles, hanger and infrared sensor for fluids, probiotics, fish oil, aluminum hydroxide, buprenorphine, heart meds (I will premake up a bunch of gel caps), chicken stock to mix the PM vedmedin with, budesonide, benazapril, ondansetron, 1 ml and 3 ml syringes for liquid meds, pill shooter. I may or may not pack the cypro. Her pulse dose of Leukeran is due Sunday, but I'll wait unitl we get home that night. Fuds list includes lots of options and lids, immulsion blender, syringes for assist feeding if needed. I'm probably forgetting something. Oh yeah, dishes, syrup, HC.

ETA: since I'm making a list for myself: Restoralax, pumpkin, calipers/magnifying glass, measuring spoons, sharps box, pill cutter.

Oh my, that's quite a list of supplies. I like lists! Hope the trip goes well. Appy vines to Neko. Good choice, daddy bean! Hopefully the night time choices will be the "right" ones too!:p

Good grief!! Will google the regatta tomorrow. Sounds like it will be a great experience.

Good thing you're not crossing the border with all of those supplies! I don't know if they would cause a problem or not, but they would no doubt delay the crossing.

Have fun on the trip, Wendy. And Neko, eat up! your mom's working very hard to get you the perfect fuds.

I took a good number of those with me when we went to Colorado last year - not the fluids though. It was the cat litter in my carryon that caused the fuss at customs. They ignored the meds.

Wow, that's almost as much stuff as I had to pack for all four cats when they went to Dawn's! Don't forget a nanner or two! I usually managed to forget something, despite making a list.

BTW, have you ever seen one of these? They make a sharps container unnecessary. The vet that diagnosed Cinco gave us one, and we used the same one the entire time he was on insulin, as well as for Harvey. They hold that many needles! You clip it off and then just throw the syringe away. My DSIL saw it and was so excited - she and both her sons have to give themselves daily injections. She just had to go right to a drug store to buy one for each of them.

Neko, keep eating your fuds! It makes Mama very happy, and your aunties, too!

I use these needle clippers, too. They are great! I have one stashed in each of our "residences".

Hi again, Wendy,
I just watched some You Tube videos of the Head of the Gorge. Fantastic! That looks really challenging and very technical with regard to placement of the boat, which side to row on, etc. etc. What size boat will you be in? It looks like the 8-women boats have the hardest time getting through in that current and around those rocks!
Good luck in the regatta!

That's quite a list!!!
50 Neko ......Really !!! at that time in the morning!!!
Hope she surfs nicely for you, and no more scares.

@Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey - My needle clipper is in my test kit, but I still like to have something to store the syringes and fluids needles. What I travel with is just a hard shell plastic case, not really a sharps box.

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) - I am in a quad. Just a bit nervous cause I am bow position (person giving directions) and I've never done the course before, much less bowed it. Fortunately going through the tidal narrows you have to follow the instructions of the GorgeMeister. Yes - that's his title. :p But there is one other tricky turn you are on your own. DH also looked up the tides and it looks like it will be close to slack tide when I race, but it will be more "interesting" in his boat (also a quad and he's bowing, but done this before).

Hmmmm don't forget Neko in all that packing. I used an empty medium mayo jar to put the used syringes in. It was just the right size.

It sounds so exciting!! It will be a beautiful place to race- love the gorge and the harbour. And Victoria is a beautiful place to spend the weekend. We may be down there on Saturday- not sure yet- are you racing all day?

Also if you want any restaurant recommendations- here are a few great ones- Il Terazzo is awesome Italian Food and BeLove is a great organic vegetarian restaurant (with a full bar).

Best Coffee is macchiato's- they are closed on Sunday, Fol Epi is a great french bakery and there is a good restaurant attached to the downtown one too- good coffee there too...

Hope Neko enjoy's the travel- and that your room is comfy and cozy for her :)

Love the vids. May your boats go through cleanly (in both directions). Looks like you are packing everything but the solarium! You might want to make a note of nearby vets, pet stores and butchers - just in case. Unless, asking other teams strange questions is part of the game plan.

Sam's Deli still going? (just up the street from The Empress)
