So a bit of an update.
He seems much improved. Whilst his 'business' became amazing (!) Friday it's gone downhill a bit since then. Whilst it's not ideal it is acceptable and since he's on antibiotics and I'm changing his diet back to l/c I think I'll forgive him on that score. I want to specifically thank all the board members here for chipping in and helping me with great suggestions. Florastor is probably the single most incredible anti-diarrhoeal I've used on cats!
In himself he is actually back to his pre-diabetic self. He is running around,'purring again, being affectionate, play fighting with his brother. It's actually an incredible about-turn. No idea if it's he b-12, antibiotics or just the probiotics, but so far (and I'm touching wood) he has staged an amazing recovery behaviour-wise.
However since then I am seeing some incredibly high BG readings. He was 31 (558) this morning, highest I've ever recorded, and last night was his first night on the low carb food after successfully switching him off hills m/d (again).
Shot 2.5 as it was my turn for a sleep in (really needed it after this week!).
I am pretty confident we aren't seeing bouncing (last night his nadir was 11).
I will monitor closely today and see if he settles down a bit more tomorrow.
Otherwise I'm thinking we might trial an increase on the higher numbers.
