Auto feeder recommendations

Hello!

Due to my tight work schedule, I'd love to get an auto feeder that works well with wet.

I've read tons of reviews on Amazon and they all vary. What do people here use?

My main issue is not the stability of the wet food, but that my cat has acne. So I'm hesitant to go back to plastic bowls in case he gets a flare up. (His acne is actually a plant or pollen allergy that comes out in the Spring, so he MAY be fine... But I'd hate to cause another point of discomfort for him.)

I have the Petsafe-5 compartment feeder off Amazon. There is a place to put an ice pack as well. Carter also gets chin acne so I personally use cupcake liners (re-usable or just recyclable ones) to put into the feeder. I tried using little bowls or plates but the cats wouldn't really want to eat out of them for some reason, or would leave a lot of food stuck to the sides.

That's a great idea! Do you freeze any of your food first, or just rely on the ice pack? (if so, can you freeze IN the liner?)

Wet food feeding is a little new to me. My little buggers have always been on dry food diets.

I feed raw for 2 of my cats, and canned for my diabetic still (he has some digestive issues with the raw) but yes, I would usually just freeze little cubes overnight. I've never frozen the food in reusable cupcake liners, but it might be worth a go!

@Marje and Gracie -

IIRC, you found ceramic dishes to fit inside your feeder. Could you give a few pointers to Gordy's momma of what to look out for when you have a moment, please?

These are the small dishes I bought to fit in my PetSafe5. They fit perfectly and still allow the feeder to revolve.

BTW, before I bought my Petsafe5, I did an online search and found one for $35. I took that to Petsmart who price matches online. Their in store price was $65 but they matched the online price.

Sheba had chin acne and I use an auto feeder. I put paper cup cake holders in the compartments and put the food in them. Then I just throw them away afterwards. It works well for me and Sheba eats out of them no problem.

I add water if an ice cube to the food I put in feeder. So using cup cake holders or small coffee filter soaks up the extra water I put in. I found stainless steel bowls but they are slightly smaller and Smokey has a hard time eating out of them. You might have to try a few to see what works.
