Hi everyone, for the people here who use Purina DM I was wondering were I could find it online at a cheap price, I don't want to buy from our vet anymore, and we are really low on money so I need to find a store online with good prices. Thanks P.S. sorry I think I posted this in the wrong forum. I tried to delete it but couldn't

Just curious.....why do you want to feed the DM? If you look at the ingredients, they're really no better than foods you can get at your local store

My vet started my Callie on DM. I learned that there are many wet cat foods that are just as good as DM but cost much less. Many on this forum give their cats Fancy Food Classic Pate cat food. Also 9 lives Pate and many other foods. I am hoping that one of the more technical people will come by soon with a link to the list of foods that are low carb. To start you out, look for foods that have no gravy, grains, rice, peas, sweet potatoes or any other starches. It is better to limit fish because it has higher mercury levels.

Hi, we have to give him the DM because it has the S/O index, he was blocked 3 times so he needs urinary support too.

We've had lots of cats come through here that have had crystals, urinary blocks, etc.....Pretty much 100% of them were on dry food when they were diagnosed and once they were taken off dry food and put on canned or raw food only, they never had another problem

There's nothing "special" in DM to prevent crystals from forming....the key to a healthy urinary tract is water...the more water, the better, so by feeding a canned or raw diet, the extra water keeps things "flushed out"

Some great info (written by a vet) contained in this "Feline Urinary Health" page
