No emergencies. We're in blues and greens. Seeking recheck and input on how we're doing, the how's and whys one way or the other, and any suggestions. Not seeing huge bg variations between the days of 0 dosing and the recent days of micro-dosing but Sootie continues to be BAR, all good.

Below are links to original intro thread in main forum and original thread in Lantus/levemir forum
:bighug: Thanks @Marje and Gracie , @Gussie's mom and all who with much appreciated grace and humor are hanging in there with us. Looking forward as always, Sina

(If I technologically erred in effort to add in these links at original posting dates...oops! Please let me know so I can do it right!) :banghead: ;) :)

Happy to hear from you! Yay! Blues and greens! Sweet!
You linked the previous posts perfectly!! :bighug::)
Quick learner!;) (Well done Eliza,:bighug: as HH would say! )
Glad alls going well!!

Just looking at ss, nice numbers, would be good to see that amps coming down a bit, and if those PS could be all green, that would be fab.

I see that you make a note of food given.
Has anyone mentioned trying to give him a +9 snack?
When they get to these microdoses getting a +9 snack, can stimulate the pancreas to produce some insulin of it's own and pull those ps numbers down, it's something that worked for George.

I've kept his food times the same now he is OTJ feeding every three hours (use the auto feeder), get's his main meal at ambg and pmbg (8am and 8pm) then snacks (2teaspoons of LC) at three hourly intervals.
Just a thought.

@Gill & George
Thanks for your suggestions. I have wondered if a possibility for some of the higher amps blue numbers are attributable in some part to her free feeding (snacking on supper) particularly at night OR a pm fur shot (maybe two), or combination of both. Can't always be sure who's the upstairs midnight snacker bc some of her bff's eat bits at a time (such as our tiny senior renal kitty azalea).

Although it's just a few days since micro dosing, started after second round of a few days of Sootie holding own on 0 doses, patterns may be emerging but I'm not sure that so far they vary that much from what she was at before. Sootie is one of those anomalies who was once daily on Lantus since 2015 diagnosis, starting at 3 units once daily to get her under the renal threshold, then gradually decreasing to 0). so it also could be that a pm dose even of a droplet is something that her body is not quite attuned to?

I have a question forming in my brain about the art of identifying/understanding/distinguishing the subtleties, if any, to be found when comparing recent 0 dose periods with current droplet micro dosing. Not enough 'data' for sure, but as you well know, we know our cats. And that speaks volumes.

I'm not familiar with an auto feeder that dispenses wet food.

Sootie's preshots do seem to be coming down a little bit with the drop dosing, but it may be too early to tell. The food experiment is usually a good one to try. Many of us here use the Petsafe 5 feeder for wet food. There is room for an ice pack down below, or you can add an ice cube on top with will keep the food cold and add water as it melts.

I think leaving the dose and adding the +9 meal is a good option but I would also be very appreciative if you could get a test or two at night. Cats tend to go lower at night and, if she is, she might be popping up a bit in the morning. A +2 and before bed test would be very helpful.

Thank you all for your thoughtful suggestions. I will begin to integrate +9 snacks, more in-cycle tests per suggestions as soon as possible (and will look into the auto feeder idea).

Our household is in loving vigil and nursing care of our super senior and much beloved Maine Coon Bo. Hoping you will hold him in your hearts and prayers for healing and gentlest of journeys if that is what is meant to be. Hearts and hugs, Sina
