Need help looking at dosing and BG numbers

The dates on your spreadsheet are just numbers so I'm a little confused on when the curve was done, but wow, it's crazy that his numbers are still so wild after changing his feeding sched. I also did a sort of curve today and learned that Sock's NADIR seems to be around 8+... so I've been studying his SS, and I think it's a good chance my pub's crazy spikes may be from the Somogyi effect - as I noticed on 8/26 that Socks had an extremely high PMPS bg reading AFTER having low PMPS AND +3 blood sugar before on 8/24 and I had not reduced the insulin dose as he'd been more regularly high.... I noticed on 8/28 another fairly low 4+ bg reading (102), but after learning that his NADIR is around 8+, he may have crashed that day and caused that a horribly high PMPS reading the next day, 8/29, of 572.

As I'm awaiting the last BG reading of this curve in about an hour, which will be his PMPS, I'm interested to see how much more he goes up, as the last reading at 10+ was only 126. Lisa, seems like more curves for the mid cycle numbers would help see if he's going too low...

Looks like Justyn will have a long cycle - I hope he is high enough to shoot for pmps. If not try stalling without feeding for 20 minutes and retest. No only do you want to be sure he is high enough to shoot, but you want to be sure the number is rising, not still falling.

Depending on how low he is for pmps, you might try dropping the dose a little more. His numbers look very good - we just want to try for more of a "smile" curve, with the higher numbers at preshot and the lower number in the middle.

I just got the PMPS, and it's only 179, help!!! Thinking to drop to 1.5 or 2, any suggestions asap! Got a hungry cat that looks like he might eat me soon!

It is good he is rising, not falling. My lowest number is 180 and he is close enough. If you can monitor, 1.5 is the safer overnight dose. 2 might be okay, but you'd need to get an early test to see how he is trending and then you might have to be up tonight, steering toward higher numbers.

Well had to give Socks his food, so I lowered it down to 2u and am terrified he's gunna crash... unfortunately not going to be able to test him much tonight as I have to pick up a friend from the airport..

Gotcha, sorry when I posted last i didn't see your latest reply. I gave him 2 and can test him, but any suggestion of when to test him tonight to make sure he's not crashing? His ear is so poked and bruised so I really didn't want to have to bug him much more tonight...

I see what you mean about my weird dates on my spreadsheet. No idea how that happened. Looks like a couple of my formats changed. I think it's fixed now. I think what you're seeing in Sock's numbers sounds reasonable to me, although I'm no expert at all. It's nice he's getting lower numbers. A little nerve wracking too at times though. It's hard being a diabetic cat's mom.

Gotcha, no problem. And yeah, I was happy to see them lower, and after my friend's flight was delayed by 2 hours last night, I didn't get home until 3am - and socks seemed very awake and hungry, so figured he'd be fine. But i lowered his dose from 2.5 to 2 last night, and now at his 5+ in, his BG was 372... Ive updated SS, do you think he could just be adjusting to this lower dose - or maybe, more likely, I think he may have crashed last night and this is the rebound... So so confused...
