Yesterday's surprising green AMBG
Good morning!
Wow I can't believe it's September! What happened to the summer? Oh yeah....the humidex factor kept us inside because one couldn't breathe well outside.
Boomer ate all of his +3, none (or very little) of his +6, and all of his +9 although he had access to his +9 beyond 5:00 am; I think it was around 6:00 when I checked it and it was gone. Yesterday he surprised me with a very green 65; hoping for more of the same this morning.....testing in about 20 minutes.

Today I have a hair appt for colour so that I am presentable for my DH's family party that takes place labour day Sunday each year. And while my colour is working (I don't know the actual term for his although I quite often refer to it as cooking lol) my stylist is going to teach me how to crochet.

AMBG 74 :D:D:D:D

I think (because you never truly know with a cat) that his AM numbers have been lower because he hasn't been eating as much during the night as he does during the day. During the day he's pretty much CPC every meal. During the night, he generally eats most/all of his +3 and most/all of his +9 but quite often leaves a lot of the +6.

At any rate, mama and daddy bean like seeing these green numbers!

Nice start! Interesting tidbit for Trix....her numbers actually come down after she eats, so as a result she is usually lower in the evening because I'm able to give her a snack about 2 hours (or less) before her evening test. I do leave food out overnight, but since I'm not there to feed her (I usually have to hold the plate), I really never know for sure if and when she eats it, although when her numbers are lower in the morning, I can sort of guess that she probably ate it within the last hour just give her history. SOooooo...could be interesting to see if Boomer follows a similar pattern.

Have a great day, Judy!

I've always tried to avoid testing after meals until at least +3 because Boomer normally has a food spike from +1 until around +2.5. And at +3 if the pancreas is working the BG should be down.
With Boomer, I think the +3 is lowering his BG, and then the BG continues to drop because some nights he doesn't have any further food until +9.

What is interesting though is that up until Tuesday morning I was getting up shortly after his +9 and either encouraging him to eat or picking up the dish so that he had no further access to it. And it's funny that since I stopped doing that he has had beautiful numbers in the morning:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

We love the green! Guess he might just vary a little here and there which could be expected based on the different eating habits? Enjoy getting your hair done....that time that you're waiting is called "color processing". I graduated beauty school 25 yrs ago:facepalm:

"processing" sounds better than "cooking" lol :joyful::joyful::joyful:

ok what's really funny is....my stylist was doing my colour and another at the same time due to a scheduling error. And I heard her say to the other customer "I'll let you sit here and cook awhile". lol :p:joyful::joyful:
