Strange curve today

I still have 2 more hours until its PMPS time, but at this rate it looks like Diggy probably won't be getting a dose tonight. His numbers have been kind of strange recently, with having to skip three doses just in the last week. Unfortunately due to work I can only do curves on the weekend, and I can never do both Saturday and Sunday. I might try to do one tomorrow, too, just because it seems strange to me.

It was just +10 and he's at nadir, assuming it doesn't go lower. With novolin everyone always says it drops fast and hard, but I've never had him nadir sooner than +6, at least on curve days. But anyone have any ideas as to why today's "curve" was more of a line? I just feel like I can't figure him out. I give him insulin and he gets by, but I feel like he'll never be regulated enough to be OTJ :(

Hi Juliet, sorry I don't know much about Novolin, so can't really help, but it looks like you're getting pretty good results. Sometimes when you get a PS that's too low to shoot it can mean your dose is too high. Maybe @Sue and Oliver (GA) will know more and be able to help you.

I would reduce the dose. Your 1.5 yesterday gave you an unshootable preshot. Last night the preshot was high because he had been 24 hours since the last shot. Today is the same issue. What would you think about reducing to one unit for yellow preshots and 1.5 for the pinks? See if you can get two shootable pre shot tests daily.

He is looking pretty good!
