Don't get frustrated about it, it can happen to anyone, we've all had a fur shot. It happens to the best! :bighug: Are you getting some mid cycles?

I will get a +6 as I'm pretty sure nothing went in lol it's such a small drop of insulin. She just happened to move at the wrong moment and that was that, needle slid out as I was pressing the plunger.

Need another pair of hands lol yes back to normal. She actually does very well for her shots and stands there with a tiny token protest which is getting less and less. She wasn't scrambling she just moved position.

:bighug::bighug::bighug:
sorry about the shot this am - we call them fur shots (FS)
might edit your SS and put in FS instead of the ? that is there now - people will understand what you mean
Tempest is doing just great

Aww thank you Carol! :bighug::bighug: I was a teeny bit gutted as now is not the time for me to mess up lol but it doesn't seem to have done too much harm - so maybe some did go in as she's @218 at +6 :)

Thank you just changed that to FS - didn't really know what to put :)

Great work Tara! Try not to get discouraged if you get some wonky numbers, have a fur shot or anything else that makes you feel as though you'll lose any ground you've gained. It's been a harrowing 6 months for me but I've learned that, barring any emergencies, tomorrow is another day.

Thank you, those are very good words of wisdom. I'm getting there. Not quite as bad as I was now when I feel I've made a mistake. Lol trying to do the one day at a time thing.

I do admire you having done it for 6 months! Hope you are giving yourself a huuuuge pat on the back. You deserve it!! You are getting there too! :bighug:

One of my biggest fears (apart from overdosing her) was that with all the testing she would start avoiding me. But she's just spent 30 minutes on my knee having a complete body massage and purring (wants back on but I've work to do!) and washing me. She likes to wash people.. Fingers, arms, hands, toes, feet, and her favourite.. Your eyelid when your asleep! :woot: Swear she does that just to have a laugh at me! Tempest 1 - Tara 0

Oh we've all given fur shots! Some other people (pointing at me) have tested, fd, got the shot ready....and walked out the door without giving it. I remembered hours later at work. :banghead:

We've found that most cats form an even stronger bond with us through this treatment. I was afraid too, but Gypsy and I ended up being very close. I truly think they realize that when we do these annoying little things, they start to feel better...so they are okay with it.

So I'm at 277 pmps - thinking I should give 0.25u? Or should I stick with the half dose.
Having said that I'm a bit concerned about her tonight as she doesn't seem to want to eat as normal and seems a bit restless.
Given her a clean tray and going to test her urine.

Lol that sounds like something I would do!

I've noticed it a bit which surprised me. I think that is why I was so concerned about testing. Esp as my vet said she would eventually end up running away from me. Thankfully she doesn't. And we've had two easy tests today without restraint.

Ok she is not eating her dinner, and seems off her food, am I still ok to give it?

I've tried tempting her with some macs which she nibbled at but hasn't eaten anything substantial since lunch.

I hate to see you skip. As long as she has eaten something, you should be okay. I'd continue to offer some things she might like. (If you are feeling unsure, let a few drops out of the 0.25)

Well don't feel bad, you can't do anything about it right now because you don't have the U100 syringes yet so...
When you get them you can do microdosing, starting off with a reduced dose because Tempest deserves one ;)

And my nerves deserve a break too!
Ding! Round 2!

wow, Tempest is high again I see.. Well she managed to keep herself a little bit low for a while without a shot, but she can't manage to keep herself that low,, yet.
Insulin is needed tonight I think.. when is it PMPS time?
