Quite off topic but seeing as there is a link between hyperthyroidism and diabetes, i'll bet there are others on here who has a cat who has both ailments.
My cat has had hyperthyroidism for a few years and we've had excellent control all along.
I have recently been told that kelp should be avoided. Kelp (dulse) has been in some of my cat's canned food for quite some time now, and also now it is in the raw recipe of his diet. (standardized kelp)
I cannot find an abundance of info online backing up this theory, and seeing as we've had regular good bloodwork on his thyroid, i'm not sure it's such a big deal, but i'd like to know for certain.
None of my vets have ever cautioned against this ingredient, although we all know they are not the best at nutrition, generally speaking.
Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!
