Hello from KL

Hello everyone!
I'm Anne and my old boy John (11 yrs old) would like to say hello all the way from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. John has just been diagnosed with diabetes few days back and currently in ICU since Monday. He is doing okay now and will be coming home tomorrow. Both of us are relatively new in this thing and honestly, this whole new adjustment in caring for a diabetic cat kinda make me nervous especially since it involves needles and injections. Although the vet will teach me the procedure but I'm still blur on what to expect, what to monitor and so on.
So, we hope you guys who are more experienced could guide us throughout our journey.

Welcome Ann! Your John is so handsome. I suggest you read a lot on the forum, especially the FAQs. We have a successful protocol featuring testing blood glucose levels at home, feeding low carb food and using a mild, long lasting insulin. I don't know what possibilities for food/insulin you will have. Post any specific questions you have on the Health forum.
