Wow....I am finding China's numbers lately hard to believe myself and I'm the one doing the testing! (anti-jinx)

I still almost do a double take every time....."something" sure has changed in China's life (other than the diet/exercise) but those sure seem to be helping!

Got into the doctor today along with DM....she says she thinks it's bursitis and gave me a shot of steroid into the shoulder...didn't hurt at first, but it sure is tender now! I only hope it calms it down! The x-rays looked OK....guess if it doesn't help, the next step is the orthopedic surgeon to see what he has to offer.

I've only taken the Arnica pills for 1 day, so I think it's too soon to expect much from it, but from what I've heard from others here, I have high hopes.

They're sending DM to a dermatologist.....the doctor today wasn't happy with the response the cream she ordered has been. She was hoping the spots on her arms would have been almost gone by now. She thought they were sun damage...I guess she's not sure about it now. She did want DM to go get a shingles shot so we'll be doing that later this week too.

Oh well....at least I can smile about Miss China!!:D:D:D:D:D

China looks so great!!! I don't know how you do it! The cortisone shot will help your shoulder in a day or so if it is bursitis. And being sore is normal for now. I hope it does the trick and that you don't have to go the Ortho surgeon route.

Sorry about the dermatologist appointment for your DM. Hope it's nothing serious.

Was it a steroid shot? They work best if you move your shoulder as little as possible for a day or so. You want the steroids to stay in the area and not travel. I once went to a physio appointment a day after receiving a corticosteroid shot. The physio was the one who said not to move the shoulder. Also said that he sees a lot of this in menopausal women (tick!) - not sure why.
The physio did nothing. Acupuncture helped with the pain. But both times the joint ended up seizing. So, if you don't want a frozen shoulder (can't raise arm above shoulder), you do need to keep some movement. It can take over a year to unfreeze - but that is what cleared the bursitis.

You are not the only one who smiles about Miss China's numbers.

Very impressive China. You have her really tightly controlled. Another reduction might just be on the horizon.

Yo Deputy China, Your numbers today are fantastic! Keep on doing whatever you're doing (exercising?)

I hope your mother's skin thing is not shingles. But I was under the impression that shingles is very painful, so perhaps it's just one of those mysterious things.

Good luck with your shoulder. I hope the shot works. And I especially hope the Arnica works for you as well as it seems to be working for me. My hands (thumbs) are so much better.

China is looking good. I hope the shot helps your shoulder and it's nothing serious with your mom. Sending prayers.

How do you exercise? What about diet?

China is uhhhh..."too fluffy" so she's on a diet which just means she's getting less low carb food than she was. She eats Natures Variety frozen raw chicken medallions and splits one 3oz can of Fancy feast per 24 hours....If she's really pushy about getting another snack, she either gets some Orijen Wild Boar freeze dried treats (crushed up into powder) or a little fresh ground chicken

As for exercise, I've started spending about an hour a day getting her moving. She likes "Da Bird" toy, but she really goes crazy for this new one I got called Jackson Galaxy's ground prey wand. If you look at yesterday's condo, you'll see how tired she got chasing after it!!

Was she on FF only before the switch?
I want to make Silvester more active too.

We've been at this since 2013, so we started our 4th year in March....when we first started, she was switched from dry to Fancy Feast or Friskies....as we learned more about nutrition, I gradually switched her over to the frozen raw. I can't afford to only feed the raw, so she gets 2 meals of raw per day and splits the FF during the rest of the day

I've also started adding as much water to her FF as I can get her to tolerate so it helps to "fill her up" without adding calories

Yes, it was a steroid shot....and no worries about moving as little as possible!...it still hurts too much for that!! I'm really hoping it's better tomorrow when the steroid has really had a chance to work

Surf China, Surf!!! You're such a good girl!!!

China is looking so good! What a difference in her numbers.

Hope the shot helps your arm and maybe a little PT to help loosen it up.

Sorry the cream didn't help the spots on DM 's arm. Hope there will be something else they can do that is not invasive.

Yowzee, China. Look at those numbers! You are a star!!!! (Hmmm. Maybe I should get Polly up and about with something. Looks like the exercise is having an impact.)

Vines for your shoulder. Ouch! And vines for your DM's spot issue. Hope both resolve easily and quickly.
