The Bean was glad to see this number this morning after seeing that +2.5 last night (153 ouch) No more testing in between cycles. ;)

If he keeps up the good work, that boy will be outside in one week! He is more than ready.......it's been since 12/21 that he was grounded. Come on Bubba, you can do this.

@Marje and Gracie , I know that you brush Toby's teeth. I bought a brush and paste and not sure if the paste is okay for FD cats. Sorbitol is the sweetener but there is Barley Malt extract and Dextrose. Are either of those safe? It is Sentry Petrodex. If not, what do you use?

Vines to all Beans and Kitties in need.

Happy Day 5! Go Bubba!

Bobbie, dextrose is sugar. I would be leary.

Keep it going Bubba. The wild is calling.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! :D:D:D:D:D

Hang in there, Bubba. It's comin'!

That is funny and I have a photo of Bubba with a mouse hanging out of his mouth and it was 13 day after his eye removal and I had finally let him back outside. He came proudly to the door with it.......one of my favorite photos of him.

Looking SO good Bubba!!! YAY Bobbi- I am so excited for you both:)

I decided after we restarted Trouble's latest trials that I wasn't testing in between unless his numbers were not normal... (even if they were low blue)... It just seemed when I did they were never what I wanted! :)

Go Bubba!

That is where I am too, put the lancet down! I don't know about you but, I hold my breath with the AM and PM test.

My first trial I did! But this trial- I haven't really- mostly because I am not worried about the low blues... it seems to be still in his normal range and have gotten support from some of the more experienced numbers that they are ok for him... Although after his low blue bookends yesterday I was very happy to see the green this am:))) But the first trial it was excruciating!!

Bubba looks really good- I have no doubt he is going to be partying it up soon! And I am so so happy for him, I remember when he first got on Lantus and to see where he is now- how wonderful:)))

Also- My orange civvie (looks a bit like Bubba) is a hunter too- came to the door with a mouse last night- I didn't realize it- and he kept meowing to get me to come outside with him.. I finally did.. saw the mouse and he was so proud.. Then he ate it in 2 bites.. :cat:

You know, everyone shares the OTJ trial instructions....but they fail to include the most important instructions. Here they are:
  1. No. You cannot poke your cat more than twice a day.
  2. Yes. You will feel like a lousy human for not poking your cat more than twice a day.
  3. No. You cannot hide any extra pokes from the people here. They find out everything.
  4. Yes. You will get yelled at by the people here if you poke your cat more than twice a day. In fact, they may threaten to take your pokey sticks away from you.
  5. Yes. It is perfectly acceptable to knock down other members of the household in your mad dash to get your allotted two pokes a day.

You are right, no one gave me these instruction, LOL and they are good ones! Gave Bubba his +4 snack and it's so weird not to poke him first or right after. Wonder what he thinks about me going to 2/day when I use to do,well let's just say that I should have been in a 12 step program for testaholics.:stop:

Much better day!

I don't think you want to use that toothpaste. Dextrose is sugar. And sorbitol is also a sweetener and many of the artificial sweeteners can raise BG. I don't use toothpaste. The vet dentist he told me they aren't needed. I just use a damp abrasive cloth and rub it against his gums and teeth. I then put Ora Vet gel on his teeth once a week but that has to be started with clean teeth right after a dental.

Thanks for that info Marje. His last dental was Sept. so he is coming up time again. I will look into the Ora Vet to use after the cleaning and this time I will start brushing his teeth. Bad Mom!

I remember that photo! It's a great photo and you may need to post it again just so everyone can enjoy it. ;)

Go Bubba, go Bubba! Bobbie, you're in good company here with all the other testaholics. ;)

They usually recommend the vet put it on while kitty is under anesthesia immediately after dental. Then you would brush daily and use the gel weekly. I've got an appt to get to but I'll come back later and give you more info about the gel.

Are you getting settled into your new space? I wish you good luck in your new home with more space

Weird. Just now I'm watching Fixer Upper on HGTV. Jo Gaines just kicked down a porch railing while encouraging, "Go Bubba." Coincidence? I think not. Everyone's cheering for you Bubba!

Loud cheers from here!
