Nothing new to report!! Miss China's been down at the lagoon all day after taking a short break last night to let her coat dry out a little bit up on the beach

Of course she had to go tease the sharks just a bit too!!

Don't know what I'm going to do about the "extra fluffiness" .....going to try to get her moving more (I can't do the string thing with 2 other cats in the house...I'd get dragged down and never get from point A to point B!) but with all the extra weight, China's not too interested in "exercise".

I figure she gets 130 calories in the Natures Variety each day and another approx. 170 in Fancy Feast (at the most) so that's a total of 300 calories per day or less. Right now she weighs 19.6lbs......she should weigh less than 14

Oh the struggles of losing weight....one that none of us like to have to deal with!!
 
Quit teasing those sharks China!

Can you try feeding her 250-275 a day and see how she does on less calories? At one point Neko waa almost 15 lbs and she would have gained weight with 300 calories a day. Yikes on the 19 lbs!
 
it's hard for all of us.... kitties too....

i'd confine the other two for half an hour so China gets the chance to chase the string....
because ....
after all, what's another half hour of your day, right?

So based on that, you need to reduce her calories to 259. The best formula is the ideal weight X 13.5 + 70 . So in China's case, 14 lbs times 13.5 =189 + 70-= 259. That would equate to about 1/2 can less of FF a day. Start shaving off 1/8 can slowly over a week , then another 1/8 can less over a week. Then another 1/8 can over a week and then the 4th week another 1/8 of a can. Then you would be 1/2 can less than you are currently feeding. Until you have her less 41 calories then you will see the weight slowly coming off which is optimum with cats. The FF classics are around 92 calories a can.
 
Wow, the lagoon had all hands on deck today! China had the deep end, Harvey the middle, and Rusty was up near the shore. I believe Deputy Bubba was on duty, too.

China, Harvey's right behind you. Turn around and wave. Maybe you two can work on your tandem sufing tonight.

How's the shoulder doing, Chris?

Good luck with the weight reduction plans. My problem is trying to keep weight on Harvey. :rolleyes:

You did good work in the lagoon today. I hope your diet will be successful, but you sure are a good swimmer and lifeguard just the way you are.

Hi Chris, is the Arnica gel working for you? We just got the pill form of Arnica that Carla (@carfurby ) recommended and I think they are working already. Both Edward and I are impressed.

Good luck with China's diet! I wish that Rusty would gain some weight back.
