I've gotten Lactated Ringer's Injection USP fluids from the vets, but does anyone buy fluids online or in a store?
You can get fluids relatively inexpensively if you purchase a case (12 bags) from a place like Cosco, Walgreens. Yo have to give the pharmacy an NDC number for the fluids. Here is a list of fludid NDC numbers

There are places like Thriving Pet and KV supply for less than a case.

thanksagainYes, you do need a prescription.
Also, not all places mayhave the same fluid you get from your vet so you may have to get lactated ringers with a different NDC. NDCs are specific to a manufacturer and to the type of bag. Some bags are DEHP free and have a different NDC number.
It is called an IV line set or IV administration setlong tube/shut off and on thing (dunno what is called)
