Yesterday

After taking last night off, Harvey is back on duty in the lagoon today. :D A deputy's work is never done!

Appy was crappy this morning - few bites of t/f/s meal, refused breakfast, so I cut to the chase and gave him the Ond & Cypro. One hour later, he's got his hoover on! :woot: I was disappointed at UCD the other day, when they described his weight as "stable" - I thought sure he'd gained some since last appointment. I weighed him this morning and found he'd lost a couple of ounces in the past week! :( His weight is back to where it was in April, which is an okay weight, but not where I want him. We were making such progress, and then the past few weeks he's been losing little tiny amounts that eventually add up. I guess I need to get more aggressive with the tummy meds. Even though we aren't pulse dosing yet, I think I'll try giving him Ondansetron a couple of hours before his Leukeran and see if that changes anything.

Harvey's got his ophthamology appointment this afternoon, so I'd better get going if I want to get a workout in.

Congratulations to @Erica & Carter on today's successful completion of an OTJ trial! We needed something to be happy about! :woot:

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans :bighug:

Keeping Missy in our thoughts as she mourns her beloved Myles.

Our hearts are heavy and our prayer are flowing for Amy and her family today. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

That's great news that his appetite picked up after his meds. :woot: Fingers crossed that the different meds times will work even better.

Sending good vetty vines for this afternoon.

I'm glad the meds helped Harvey eat. I hope giving the Ond. early helps too. Nice greens today. :D Sending good vetty vines.

Let's see. With a little med oomph Harvey's eating. His numbers are nice. Weight is stable. OK, Harvey, make the bean even happier, eat w/o medicinal help, fatten up a bit. Not a bad wish list, Tricia. Make it happen Harvey.

Vetty vines for today.

Marilyn and Polly

Sending good vetty vines. Poor Harvey, that's two too many vet visits in a week.

Eat boy - fuds is good! I hope the Onda experiment works.

For both of you

We give ondansetron and cypro to civie Tillie. It takes about 2 hours then she's ready to eat. And it is a teeny, tiny crumb of cypro. Appy vines for Harvey, his numbers look great.

Hope the vetty eye doctor gives him the thumbs up, sending vines for his visit. His BG are looking good on just that tiny dose, keep up the good work deputy Harvey!!!

Sending hi. Some appy, weight gaining vines:bighug::bighug:

Hoping to hear good news from the opti-vetty!!

I wouldn't worry too much about a few ounces one way or the other.....remember, lots of things can effect that....like when the last time Harvey had a good poop!! "Stable" is good! I don't think Harvey is ever going to be the type of cat to be "too fluffy"...we just don't want him getting too skinny either!!

Yo Harvey! You is really workin' dat juice good!! Especially for such an itty bitty dose!! Hope da vetty visit doesn't get you lost out in da weeds tonight and you make it down to da lagoon again!!

Lots of good vetty vines for Harvey. Eat your fuds buddy it'll make you big and strong. Doodles got out of his vetty visit today but little does he know...tomorrow is another day.

Thanks for the visits and vines, everyone. Phooey on that PMPS. :( We're going to blame it on vetty/car ride stress. ;)

Today's car adventure was just as exciting as the last. On the way to the Ophth Vet, Harvey was hollering more than normal, so I let him out of the carrier and he went straight to the lb. Unfortunately, only his front legs made it in. He proceeded to empty a very full bladder on the carpet under the passenger seat!:banghead: After I got home, Mark took the seat out so I could get to the spot. Blotted it up and treated it. Hopefully I'm not going to have a car that smells like cat pee from now on. :arghh:

The actual vet visit was pretty good. The pressure in his eyes is "perfect". :woot: The cataracts have grown, but Dr. C said he can still see around them, so Harvey can, too. We aren't yet at the point where we need to discuss removing them. Emphasis on "yet". Unfortunately, Harvey's eyes were very dry - the first time they have been - so now we have some ointment to add to the instruments of torture I get to administer to him twice daily. Harvey was, as usual, a very good boy for the vet, and Dr. C is quite taken with him. I told him about Cinco's crossing, and he was very sad to hear it. He thought Cinco was an amazing cat, coming through as much as he did so well. Unless something changes, next appointment is in three weeks. Same with the oncologist, so hopefully that's it for car rides for a while.

Hope da vetty visit doesn't get you lost out in da weeds tonight and you make it down to da lagoon again!!
China, I's tryin' to get out of da weeds, but I don't see too good, and they is thick. Somebody send me a machete! - Harvey

Maybe you should consider renting a car for the day

Yeah for the pretty positive eye report!!! With as much experience as you have with eye drops, ointments and such, hopefully Harvey won't object (too much) to the new ointment

Harvey!!...Forget da machete!! Use dis instead!!!

BTW, the appy is still happy. Half a can of FF gone so far! :)

You know that no good ever comes from kitties with machetes, right?
Shelly!!! How lovely to hear from you! I saw your post on another condo earlier. Gosh, I miss your humor. We could really use that around here right now. I'm even more afraid of cats with power tools!

White vinegar -use a lot of it- kills pee smell.

Naturally your car will smell like a salad for a few weeks, but it beats the smell of pee.

There has been way too much pain and loss, I know. Although I haven't been posting, I've been lurking and sending out prayers and vines daily.

I'm even more afraid of cats with power tools!

Power tools require too much effort for my evil one. Why use something that requires one to pull chains or push buttons when you can simply bat a sharp machete into the path of the human? :)

Sweet PDZ (used in horse stalls) has worked really well for us in absorbing the smell of cat pee.

Yo Deputy Harvey, ya don't need no chain saw in the lagoon, man! Glad your eyes are OK. But stay away from the binoculars tonight. Can you see well enough to throw the waterwings?

Hi Tricia, I'm glad the vetty appt. went well. Too bad about your car seat. There's a product that has enzymes in it--"Miracle" something-or-other--that some people swear by.

Ella, I think you're talking about Nature's Miracle. I've used their products, and they are good. When Cinco (and Sasha) were having trouble making it to the litter box, I tried a product that was on sale at Petsmart, Bissell Cat Urine Eliminator, and it really worked well. I ended up buying three gallons (they had a "buy two, get one free" sale), because I thought I'd be needing a lot of it. Turns out it went further than I thought, and I lost both kitties not that long after that, so I still have a gallon and a half. That's what I used today. We'll see how it does. I love my car and am in no hurry to replace it, even though it's a 2004. However, if it still smells like cat pee, that might end up being a deal breaker! Stay tuned...

I use vinegar myself. Luckily I haven't had many accidents with my kitties. As always, vines to Harvey..
