Ouff, lucky me there's no ambiguity on shooting or not this morning... :facepalm:

Even then, I would be curious on what kind of numbers will come later at 2.5unit..
There will be green for sure with the mood Small Kitty is in these days.

Some suggested yesterday I have my care taker have a look during the day.
He still had my keys and was owning him money so I went to the clinic and asked..
It sounds he's really seeing this as a business.. kind of you need to set appointment
and seems me as a ''client'' :eek:. No reason he work for a creepy vet :)

My other youngster at the pet store are not reliable at all. When practice came
on it was pushed 5 times !!! :eek:

I'm writing an ad today that I will put at their store asking for someone reliable
to take over as I'll be traveling for a week in 2 weeks. This ad will be punchy with some words
in bold capital letters. No question of leaving Small Kitty in the hands of some kid not
caring about mostly anything.

another anecdote on this : I needed my medication for epylepsy and my backup
drugstore was closing at about the same time I would arrive. I arrived there 5 min
after closing, the door was loocked.. There they were, 2 adolescents, behind the
counter at the back trying to make as little move as possible in the dark.
It's only when I called that one of them came. Shy said ''we had cancelled the order,
it was a long day :confused:. Being their father I would have taken one by the neck and
explain what being responsible means.

Where are we going I don't know, trying not to generalized but it's hard...
 
Nice start for SK today and hope he surfs safely for you. Also, hope you can find someone reliable to help out while you are out of town again. The drugstore episode is sad that no one wants to extend themselves any more......it is sad.
 
How funny they all line up quickly every two weeks for their pay check.
It is hard to get good service these days...
 
WOW, isn't this nice or what ?? There is a point that seeing all those blue and green spread sheet was
just a dream too far away. My guess was that MAYBE 4 units would eventually do the job. But No,
2.5 seems, touching wood, to be doing a great job. Can't understand how an insulin shot that has
wear off is still keeping Small Kitty in good range ? No question ask, just admire I guess.

I designed a BEAUTIFUL ad this afternoon

Not sure anybody would have resisted it's basically saying :

Helper Needed

Need someone who can be trusted and punctual for taking care of Small Kitty,
diabetics.

To do : Test and injection (easy, I'll show you)
Food, water...

Compensation to be evaluated (very little) - did not wrote that

Right when I came into the store one of the guy who did it before said
he was taker and started taking notes on what to do.

Think I can book flights and call house owner renting rooms in Oshkosh, Wi.

Very happy, things are finally going forward, not backward !

Big part because of all of us, working as a team !!

Keep in mind that SK might have gone much lower during the day. So even if the insulin is wearing off he may simply be coming up from lower numbers. It will be very interesting to see his curve this weekend.
 
Today was just beautiful, Sebastien! I know how happy you must be when for so long it was nothing but blacks and reds. Take a bow! You were steadfast and did not waiver. Every time you needed to change thing up, you did so with determination and great love for your boys. I am just soooooo very happy that SK is getting into nicer numbers.

Also glad you found some one to help you while you are gone. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
I just performed a +4 test to know if Small Kitty is not falling below safe limit...

Far from it, he came from beautiful blue to a very dark red (481).

Don't really understand.. Should have come down.

Did you sniff his fur to make sure you didn't give a "fur shot"? If you're positive all the insulin went in, not on the cat, maybe he's bouncing. Also, did you do a second test to make sure that wasn't just a bad test? I always do that when I get a number that surprises me.
 
With not being able to test during the day, you don't know how low SK might have gone today. Considering SK started the AM with a blue number and was blue at PMPS there is a good possibility that he went lower during the cycle. If this is the case then it is very possible that this is a bounce. Hopefully SK will have better numbers for the morning.
 
Good advice to do a second test when there is such a huge difference from the previous number and I always sniff the injection site to see if I smell insulin. He is still making nice progress. It is disappointing when they start to come down and then bounce back up but remember, he has been in higher numbers for even longer than you knew about so, his body is not used to staying there yet. He will get there. :bighug:
