I don't know. Vet can't really find anything wrong with her. Yesterday she acted depressed, maybe, all morning, then puked, then was happy again and eating and purring. I shrug my shoulders. Also we've noticed she doesn't sleep much anymore. She used to sleep, a lot, now she naps for a few minutes at a time, but just stares into oblivion mostly. What the heck can be up with that?

When's the last BM that she had?
Her last one was 2 days ago. She has not had one yet although she is eating. I figger it'll be a little while before it works its way thru. She has peed though. I'm just not happy about upping her dose of lantus. I thought we could get her into remission but that ain't working out so far.

Sometimes, constipation can cause vomiting as well as increase in BS until the cat has a BM. You can try adding canned plain pumpkin to the food.

Are you feeding only twice a day? as for the carpeting i gave up a long time ago and got rid of it and went with regular flooring way easier to clean up.

She gets a snack here and there. Her main feedings are 6 AM and 6 PM with injections. And our living room has white carpeting for whatever reason the previous owners had. I will put in hard flooring eventually. Yesterday she was gonna get sick and I had to fight to keep her in the kitchen. She was persistent about urping in the living room! She's doing ok right now. She's eating some but hasn't had a BM yet. A little sluggish too.

So now she's back at the vet for a stay. She started puking again, but still eating, drinking, and peeing and pooping. They did a blood work today and her sugars were over 600! How can that be? She gets her shots 2wice daily and they upped the lantus dose. Two weeks ago she was 150, Sunday was 365 and today over 600? This ain't making sense to me right now. You think everything's under control then ya get steamrolled again!

Blood sugars can vary day to day, and week to week. Some change is normal for the most part. That's why testing daily and adjusting insulin often is necessary. You can catch the changes needed in a quicker amount of time. Infection can also raise blood sugar very quickly. I suspect that is what is happening in your case. Did the vet say if she had ketones? With sugars that high, dehydration and ketones are a concern.

Just to put your lantus dose in perspective: My kitty has "flare ups" where his blood sugar gets pretty bad. We at times have to go up to as much as 7 units twice a day to get the sugars under control. Not saying your cat is the same, but each cat needs the amount that it needs. Could be one unit could be 10, your dose is still pretty low compared to some kitties.

If she has some kind of infection, that can send the numbers up. My Callie started out good but her numbers went up when she got a UTI. Also the stress of going to the vet will cause the numbers to go up. Welcome to the sugar dance. It takes time and patience to get through this.

She had an antibiotic shot Sunday when we were at the vet. She seems good except for holding food down. She did good for a couple days then went back to puking this morning. They are gonna get a urine sample today and check for ketones. She was in much worse shape before when she had ketones. If she would let us check blood at home we could control it better but she hardly tolerates shots and won't let us hold her to prick her. She is not a personable cat.

I just don't see how she could do so good for months then, Whammo! Back to the vet.

She could have an infection if her BSL has suddenly gone up. Have they tested her urine for a UTI? Or she could possibly pancreatitis. Both very treatable. The antibiotic injection is not effective against all infections so if she does have an infection, it may not be treating it effectively.....just a few thoughts. Hope you can get it sorted out.

They were going to urine test her after we left. Her blood test showed high sugars and elevated kidney enzymes. They're supposed to call us in the morning with results.

I don't know about our vet. Wife picked kitty up this morning. They got her sugar down to 175, and they did a complete blood and thyroid workup on her, but never told her any results. Guess I'll hafta stop by on my way home from work tomorrow and see what they found. I'm a little miffed at their lack of info.

If you are going to be stopping by the vet you can request a copy of all test results that have been done. There are a couple of people on this site that are very good at reading test results. Since you paid for the tests you have the right to have a copy of each one.
