Switched to Levemir

Gulp - Murphy too will be making that journey this week sometime - but this will always be my first home
I know it was a hard decision. You have to remember EICD. Seems like you start to make progress and the kitties have another battle. I took Fritz in for the Acro and IAA test waiting to hear back from the vet. He's on antibiotic for the clear nasal drainage and he breathes different while trying to fall asleep.
Too many issues to list! I hope Murphy does well. Are you switching to Lantus or Levemir?

Levemir-- Murphy has terrible seasonal allergies and there is a big unplowed field right next door - he takes 1/2 zyrtec every day - usually he needs an antibiotic a few times a year for terrible post nasal drip and sneezing lots of snot. Last time he needed an antibiotic, I got doxycyline compounded into a liquid and it really worked very well . So far this year, he hasn't needed it because in addition to zyrtec, I've been giving him a brand new drug called apoquel, that is somewhat of a miracle drug - primarily for skin allergies but it seems to work great for Murphy's grass allergy. It will be a few more days before I switch - traveling and a mix up with the Levemir prescription
I'll be following Fritz's progress - please let us know the test results - fingers crossed for good news, Deb
