Yesterday evening he'd come of a bounce and I anticipated a night of greens and blues, and lots of monitoring. Instead the unpredictable cat went right into another bounce and is at 417 this AMPS :banghead:.

He's also very content--yesterday's flea treatment has left him un-itchy for the first time in ages.

I also found that he doesn't think the autofeeder is the proper way to eat his 3 am and 5 am snacks, and that the humans ought to wake up and present snacks on a dish instead. Oh cat!

Thanks for all the experience, support, and suggestions!

we know who is in charge . . .

My only observation is that the last bounce cleared on the 3rd cycle, and tonight is the 3rd cycle after the "event" that caused this bounce. Good thing you didn't have any plans for tonight except to stay with Leda and await her highness' bounce clearing cycle.

Of course it could hold on until tomorrow too, but tonight would be my first guess.

I love seeing those blues and greens, even if they come at night!
Great attitude! Anything to serve our little furry masters, even if it means staying up all night on a holiday weekend!

I'd probably start with a +2. Looks like he takes at least a couple of hours to work down from a red number when the bounce is clearing and seems like he often hits yellow on his way down. It's nice if a cat doesn't drop too fast. If you see him starting to zoom down, interrupt his slide with some low carb food. It's ideal if it's slow enough that it doesn't trigger another bounce. How fast is too fast depends on the cat, but most will bounce if they drop more than 50 points in an hour.

Sometimes you can't do a lot to control the speed, but if you do catch it, slowing it down can help prevent a subsequent bounce sometimes.

I'm glad to hear that, I've been trying to manipulate his eating schedule to reduce the quick drops, but I wasn't sure if it would make any difference.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and keeping an eye out for us!

You bet!

It's not uncommon when people post in the early hours for their posts to end up dropping down on the page. I've seen it happen lots of times, especially once people start responding on previous day's posts.

If you ever have questions, just bump up your post again by adding a reply to it so things don't get missed.

Feel free to read and post on other people's threads, too. I learned a ton that way that I was able to apply to punkin.
