Yesterday

We have a very flat blue cat today. I mean flat! But if he must be flat blue, I'm glad he's in the very lowest numbers of the range! Harvey, can we please have a carbon copy of this cycle tonight? Mama and Daddy want to go out.

Appy is good. Harvey ate all his t/f/s meal and ate his breakfast in several passes. He has now almost finished the can - last tablespoon is in his dish. No tummy meds this morning. :woot: I gave him a capsule of SEB last night right before I went to bed. Just thought I would try it again and see if it helps his morning appy. Maybe it would have been good anyway, but I'll try it again. Don't know if I can do it tonight, as he'll get his meds really late when we get home from dinner and cards, and I'm not sure if I'll still be awake 2 hours later (but being me, I might! :p).

My foot felt a lot better yesterday evening and I was so pleased, but it's worse again this morning. :( They say it's usually worse in the mornings, but the morning's over and it isn't better yet, despite icing. This is going to be a long month if it stays like this.:arghh:

We have so many kitties having a rough time right now, as well as beans with family health issues and their own, that I'm losing track. I'm just going to send tons of healing vines to everyone that needs them, and lots of extra hugs, too. :bighug::bighug::bighug: Take as many as you need. I'll make more. :bighug:

Yeah for a good appy!! That's the way to keep your mama smiling Harvey!!

Of course those nice flat (low) blue numbers aren't bad either....Good for at least a grin, if not a whole smile!! ;)

Looks like LM Rusty is patrolling the deeper water, China's got the middle part of the lagoon and Deputy Harvey has the shoreline....Way to divide and conquer!!

That's teamwork!!!

OK Harvey....you have your instructions for tonight....You can dip your toesies in the water, but your official assignment is near shore!!

Ugh, sorry to hear about the foot. I had plantar fasciitis in both feet a few years ago. It was definitely worse in the mornings. I went to physical therapy and that helped a lot. Did your doc tell you to do calf stretches? Those helped me enormously and if I wear girlie shoes for a night they still hurt a bit the next day until I do the stretches.

Yay on the appy! I think SEB is a great idea if he has ongoing tummy issues. I gave it to my Marshmallow when she had IBD/lymphoma and it helped. If nothing else, it has some nutrients and fiber.

Sending continued good appy vines and some for your foot as well!

I hope your foot feels better sooner than you think. Harvey is almost green and with meter variance might be!

He mentioned doing some exercises, but he also said not to do anything that hurts, so I haven't done much of them yet. Lucky you, wearing girly shoes. I haven't been able to wear anything but lace ups for at least the last three years (and shouldn't have for ten years before that). I used to have more than 70 pairs of shoes (my friends called me Imelda). I really miss throwing on a cute pair of pumps with a skirt instead of my clunky shoes. :( Arthritis sucks. Plantar fasciitis isn't any fun either. I can't imagine functioning with it in both feet at once.

I have rheumatoid arthritis so I totally get it. I wear girlie shoes about once a year. Most of the time I wear orthotics and clunky shoes but every now and then I'll wear cute shoes. Nothing like the stilettos that are trendy though. I can't walk on those kinds of stilts!

My physical therapist had me freeze a water bottle full of water. Then put it on the ground on its side, then gently roll the foot back and forth on the water bottle. It's meant to help loosen the tightness on the bottom of the foot, and the ice helps numb the pain. Maybe that will help? I agree not to do anything that hurts but maybe some stretching and or rolling might help. Obviously don't listen to me if those things would hurt. It does feel like walking on hot coals, I know. :(

Love those flat blues! That's the cycle of my dreams right now. And appy too - wow!:cool: Thanks for remininding me to ask the IM vet about SEB.

Nice cycle for Harvey. Wish Toby would see blues again. So glad he ate for you today. Hear that Harvey eat all your fuds to make you big and strong.:) I hope your foot gets better soon.

@granadilla, my doctor did tell me to try the water bottle. Haven't done it yet. I will tomorrow. I've just soaked it in ice water and also used an ice pack. I have osteoarthritis. They thought it was rheumatoid because of my symptoms, but tests said no.

Harvey is still pretty flat, but I felt good enough about his PMPS to leave (with plenty of food). He ate all his t/f/s meal and was working on seconds when we left.:)

Harvey. Today? More like this please.

I can't imagine the foot pain. I had a spur once and thought I'd have to crawl to my coffee in the morning. So many vines.

Um... not exactly. Negative tests for RA don't rule it out, they just don't rule it in.
There are over 150 different types of rheumatic disease, so it can be difficult to identify what is going on. And there's a catch all diagnosis called undifferentiated connective tissue disease, where some tests indicate something is going on, but not clearly what.

I don't have arthritis in my feet but 2 yrs ago I fell down my stairs and landed on the very tip of my right big toe, then two months later did it again :banghead:. To this day it still hurts like it just happened. There went the cute shoes :( I can wear certain ones for about an hour then it's back to flats. If I want to go to a fancyish dinner I will wear them but take my flip flops for after, lol.

Thanks for the info, @BJM. My rheumatologist was pretty adamant that I don't have RA, but it would be interesting to see what she says when I quote that info! I'll have to save it to take to my next visit.

Harvey ate all his dinner while we were gone, and almost half of what was in the autofeeder. I'm thinking he stayed blue the whole evening, but if he didn't I guess we'll never know! o_O He was asleep on my desk chair when we got home but was happy to have another snack. Not so happy about a test, pills and eye drops!

@Suzi_S have you ever asked your doctor about the toe? You probably broke it both times, and arthritis may have set in. I kept about a dozen pairs of my lowest heeled shoes, thinking I could wear the just out to dinner, but no one dresses up in CA, so they're just sitting in their boxes in closet! Probably better for my feet. :p
