Hi,

Baco's AMPS was 322 and her +2 was 380. After that I went shopping (yes I treat myself today, bought some nice clothes! and just came home.
Baco surprised me with givingme 104.
I think MR pancreas decided to come visit again @Sue and Oliver (GA) @Bobbie And Bubba hihihi!;)
Should I dare devil tonight and go with a tiny dose (and if so, what dose?, because I CAN monitor her tonight) or should I skip the dose tonight?

Good for you to treat yourself!!

Since the 104 is a +11, you should wait WITHOUT FEEDING and test again at the usual preshot time. Depending on what numbers Baco has then someone can help you figure out a dose or whether to skip.

I will, stall for 15 more minutes, I need to get her schedule back again before monday. So I want to give her her shot in 12 minutes.. that's 30 minutes earlier than this morning..
So I will stall now, (tested her at 7PM that was 18 minutes ago) so will test her at 7.30PM again but want to give her her shot around that time due to the schedule.

okay. And what do I do when I test her (say +2 or +3 ) when I skipped the dose and she's going up? should I then maybe give her her dose ? so what I mean is, do I 'chase' her tonight?

Hey Ruby, IF you have to skip tonight and you test later say +@2 and she is going up, you can shoot BUT your schedule will be 2 hours off and with your work schedule, you won't be able to do that. Maybe someone else has a better idea. But skipping under 180 is going to be best IMHO

ProZinc is not Lantus or Levemir. I'm not very keen on "chasing the numbers" while on ProZinc. (Please tell anyone wearing a Lantus hat while communicating with you that he/she needs to take that little hat off when they are talking with someone whose kitty is on ProZinc.:p)

108..... sooo what would you do If you were in my shoes now with Baco? Give her food and let her skip this dose?

Yep, I would just feed her and skip. She's only been at a little more than 1/3 of a unit lately anyway, Ruby - and this low # is telling me that she could possibly be holding onto the ProZinc a little longer than some cats do ... is not worth the risk to shoot her with anything this time.

Okay, thanks Robin.. hoping her pancreas is doing all this so that I can later tonight still see the blue numbers!
Thanks so much again.:bighug:

on 5/21 btw she had a higher number at AMPS and after her food she even went lower, so there is a possibility that MR Pancreas is working right now.
She also at that day went up 2 point between testing (stalling/testing) and that's what happend just now... So fingers crossed that MR. P is here with us ;)

Well, none of us exactly have a crystal ball, but the #1 job is keeping kitty safe.

Please try not to make yourself crazy by testing too much this cycle (just some advice from someone who can do that to herself if she's not careful:p) - I'd recommend you give yourself (and Baco's ears) a little break; maybe only get a test around midcycle, then wait until the next pre-shot time to test again.:)

I think you are seeing some action from Mr. Pancreas too. With that low number and some possibility of Mr. P action, skipping is definitely safest. You just don't know what Mr. P is going to do, so adding more insulin would be bad!

I also agree with Robin...give yourself and Baco a break. You don't need tons of tests. You can both probably use a break!

I agree Ruby, not worth risking her going too low and you being up all night.

Thanks so much Robin, Rachel and Bobbie... We will have a break, we need it both (although you know for a fact, we will all do everything for our kitties! even if we don't get any sleep) So I'm thinking tonight of going to sleep EARLY!!!! hahahha HOW GREAT IS THAT. A loooooooooooooooooooooong night sleep. Omg I'm already dreaming about it.. going to test Baco I think around +2 +3. and then will go to sleep for once :p:D

Sweet dreams tonight Ruby and you too Baco! Dream of a land with out meters and lancets and insulin. :joyful:

Omg, that's everything I wanted for weeks.. just to sleep a little longer (make a night with 8 hours you know) hahaha So i'm realllllly happy about it!
Baco and (I think) MR. Pancreas are so happy with me that they are giving me a gift tonight called SLEEP without interuptions or just a short night..

Thanks Baco and MR. P :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Just to clarify, @Rachel explained it perfectly! Which was exactly what I was thinking about in my own reasoning as to why this dose should be skipped. (But must admit: I was also thinking that just maybe some Lantus people over on her side of the pond were encouraging Ruby to shoot at low #s that only people on TR using the depot insulins are willing to shoot ...)

I'm in bed now and Baco just came in, looked at me, and talked to me... It was like she was saying 'human what the... is your problem? It isn't even 10PM and you are trying to get some sleep?' o_O
Well she isn't even next to me right now, though normally she will jump right in bed when I go to bed... She finds this realllllly strange:p

Off to sleep now! Thanks again you all! :bighug:

Hahaha Maybe she is wonder about it indeed..
But she only really 'asks' for it when she's in high # so I think she's fine with it that I 'forgot' her dose! Hahaha she is still not really feeling this 'off to bed early' thing.. She is laying next to me now but still jumping on and off the bed because she finds it really odd. It's not normal for her 'schedule' I guess! Haha

Well Baco's AMPS was 398. That was a bummer but then I wanted to give Baco and Minnie some food and I discovered that I let the KIBBLES OUT THAT I GAVE MINNIE OMGGGGG! Forgot to put them away because I already was dreaming about going to bed so early :banghead::banghead::banghead:! I wasn't thinking clear....
I really can't imaaaaaaaaaginnnneeeee who ate the dry food. Yep noooooooooooo idea who ate it:eek::nailbiting:
Pfff well that explains her high numbers again. I did stick with the 0.35 dose again like you said @Robin&BB !
Curious to see if she will drop so nice like yesterday at +11!

Ooooooooh, Baco ... you little stinker!!! Well, --it happens, Ruby. (I suppose kibbles will need to be under lock & key now, right?;))

Well I can't blame her. I should have put the kibbles away! She just 'thought' they were there for her. That explains the fact that her rawfood was barely touched... Haha.
I can't be like 'Baco, these kibbles are here for Minnie, please don't eat them?!' And Baco would be like 'no problem human, I will not eat them I will stick to my raw food that I reaaaaaallllyyyy love' :p
Hahaa so I don't blame her. Let's see what her # will do today!

Oh, that's too funny!:p:D Bat is the type who watches for that moment after anyone who was preparing food has left the kitchen ... then she is RIGHT THERE, checking every inch of the kitchen floor - just in case somebody dropped a little crumb of something. Such a brat!:woot:

Hahahahahaha Bat Bat is a little piggy just like Baco! When I go into the kitchen to make some food Baco and Minnie will follow me and watch me prep my own food. Meanwhile they are talking to me realllllly loud and thinking they are getting food... Sooooooo anoying! Haha:p
Can't have a moment for myself, even not in the kitchen!
And what I like to call it is if you drop a piece of food on the ground, Baco is like a 'vacuum cleaner' it doesn't matter what it is, meat, potato, whatever. She'll eat it. Guess Baco isn't the only one who does this? Haha Bat Bat is also a littly stinker !
