So we are the neighborhood softies. All 5 of our cats have been rescues/strays (technically we have 6 cats, but #6 is on permanent quarantine due to FIV), and they keep coming to our house because they seem to know there is free food and sometimes healthcare. All our cats are permanent indoor cats after we adopt them.
The last one be brought in (the one in my avatar), ended up being diabetic. Of course, we had no idea at the time. So we have him on Lantus, and things were going well, except for the last few days. Turns out he has started having seizures, unbeknownst to us. His blood sugar today was 1.1-1.3. So we gave him some honey, then food. Now we are off to the Vet as soon as I am done writing this.
Not sure why his blood glucose has been so low...we feed twice a day on vet food, and give an insulin shot immediately after. Maybe he is going into diabetic remission? That would be nice
Hope to learn lots here.
