Questions about prozinc & Baco

I think Baco is having an 'off' day. Her # aren't good at all today :banghead: I was up till now (1AM) to hopefully see some better # but it wasn't the case. Even after her PM dose she only got pink ones.... :( While she normally gets most off them yellow after PM shot... Hopefully she will have a better day tomorrow.
Hope you are all doing fine!

Remember, it's just one day. Sometimes kitties have an off day, just like we do. Especially if he's feeling a bit under the weather or anything. Hope tomorrow is better. :)

Didn't know that they could really have a day off.. Haha, well it sound logic because we do 2 sometimes. :)

Hi Ruby, looks like you increased her last night and she had some new dose wonkiness by going higher. With Lantus that happens and wondering if that is what happened to Baco. Can that happen with ProZinc, I don't remember? The wise ones can answer that.

I think it's possible, Bobbie.

Ruby, do you know what the condition of Baco's teeth is? Just wondering if a little gingivitis might be in play here. That can keep a kitty's #s up when all other factors, such as being on an all raw-food diet, are in place...

From what I can see her teeth are good. No red gums or anything.. So that should not be the case.
She was doing fine today (a lot of yellow #) untill +8 she is now at 385. Maybe she's bouncing a little because of the dose increase?

Hmmmm..could be, but I really think it's just the normal smile curve in play. She didn't go too low, so I think she just started rising like normal. Regardless, those yellows are nice! Here's hoping that the new dose will help bring Baco lower :)

The 'smile' is good right?
Well the 385 was at a moment my washing machine clicked on and she got scared, I saw it, and after that it clicked on I tested her so maybe it was just a jump scare for her and that was the reason she was that high. Because normally she wouldn't be near 385.
Pmps was 329 so that's okay. Hope to see some more yellow # this PM ;)!
I'm really excited though about her AM curve today! Really nice #

Maybe this is a weird question, but why do kitties need to eat before there shot? And why is it a big deal if a kitty vomits after eating and getting a shot?

Because shooting without food in the kitty's system could result in a hypoglycemic event; and it would also follow that if kitty vomits after eating the pre-shot meal, the food would then be out of her stomach, which would be similar to giving a shot without feeding first.

Well, I just found out this morning that Baco is having a little bump on one of her ears and it is itching, she scratches it if I try to touch it. So i'm going to get some cream that was recommended at the dutch forum now, and try that and see if it works. I will also test her a little less than usually. I was free the last couple of days and tested her a lot, every hour, so now today it will be every 2 to 3 hours and from tomorrow on I'm working again so I test her then just 4 to 5 times a day untill friday. I'm telling you this so you don't get confussed when you see her SS, it's going to be a little less # then you are used to. (But if she get's a really 'scary' drop I will ofcourse test her more.) for now she is high enough to let her do her own thing.

realised just now that Minnie and Baco were in a huge fight yesterday evening, I wasn't paying attention to it because they sometimes need to decide 'who's in charge' but I didn't realised that this morning, because I was thinking OWW it's her ear so it must be by testing her a lot... well now I know it's not the case. I will still get the cream and give her ears some rest due to the bump she's got... awww poor Baco got slapped by minnie :woot: normally it's the other way around... hihi:blackeye:

hahaha well I'm not going to tell Minnie that, because Minnie is always been the weak one, he's always being picked on by Baco.. So I guess (how sad it is) Baco got what she deserved :blackeye:
Baco always starts the fight, without any reason... So Minnie was standing up for himself this time :stop: hihi.

(Minnie was my maternal Grandmother's name:))
Oh really! that's funny!
Minnie is called Minnie, because that name stand for tiny/small (in the netherlands, mini). And he's really tiny, he looks like a kitten, although he's 12 years old... But he's healthy so that's a good thing!

You know what Baco stands for? bacardi and coke hahaha! it's a abbreviation for it here in the netherlands.. And when I got Baco at the time, that was my favorite drink soooo

Ruby, I was wondering how you got the name Baco. Apparently someone else on the Dutch forum likes that drink too! ;) Sue did a fun post a while back and we all told how pets got their names. It was interesting how they got chosen.

That's a really good idea of Sue! hihi. It's really funny to know how people get there cats names!
Well the other Baco on the dutch forum named there cat Baco, because when he was little, he used to jump on the countertop (in the kitchen) and used to fondle the bacardi bottle.. hahah so that's why he's also named Baco (after the drink) :p
And why did you pick Bubba?

I am from the South. And in the South, the youngest boy sometimes is nicknamed Bubba ( short for "little brother") . I always thought it was so cute.
