Nice start for Smokey. I missed your thread yesterday and it sounds like you got beat up at the polls. :blackeye: Thanks for volunteering your time.

I hope Smokey heads down for you today. Has his ear cleared up?

The one has. The worst one is so much better but not clear yet. Doing the drop every 3rd day. I have to clean it today.

As matter of fact. He is starting to do well on his meds being every other day. The metronidazole I've been able to get the dose down to 0.5. Cerenia is the only one we can't seem to change and stick with.

Enjoy painting...wait, does that even make sense;) Hope Smokey is feel good today!

It does, I like to paint walls. Not ceilings though. It should go fast. 1 large wall the rest are small sections around doors. All the trim has been removed so it will go fast. Refinishing the trim will take forever. But have to wait until it warms up yet so I can do it outside.

For years, I was a paid election official in our town and I used to ache for days afterward. Getting there at 5:15am and not getting home until near 11pm. It was exhausting. I did it because I found it interesting. I know ALL the problems you described. And we had lever machines (this was 1999 to about 2006) that jammed at times. People showing up with no ID, talking about the candidates, insisting they knew their district has always been "right here" ('myup, sure, never in your dreams). Counting absentee ballots that people screw up royally. Three people trying to cram into a booth together. But it is an eye opener. The Presidential election of 2000 we had record turnout, lines out the door after the polls closed and we had to stay. But it is the nitty gritty side of our representational democracy and I am glad I got to see it. And never want to see it again from that little metal folding chair! LOL!

The walls are primed. Smokey slid down to green. So far good day.:D:joyful:

@Lydia & Rosie AKA &Basil . They still use the paper ballots here. Fill in the circle. Surprised of how many didn't understand that. I came from a state that hand push button polls. I thought the paper was so archaic when I had to do here. They had metal chairs before. This year there was adjustable secretary chairs with arms. Every time I would get up the arm would get caught under the table and bounce it. Always looking for a pen. People kept walking off with them. And of course we eventually was down to one until someone went to buy more. If I do it again, I will know to bring a bunch and one of those rubber finger tips for flipping pages.

Are they machine scanned? That is the system that is replacing all the others. We used to have 10 machines or so, all read separately from flip-lever vogting. Now we have a bunch of priavacy booths to fill the ballot in and two scanners thatyou put your ballot into.
