Jeez Squallie!! you are not entering the high dive olympics!!
Get yourself back to the safe end of the lagoon!
Good Catch.

That seems to be becoming a habit with him. I don't know what to do to slow him down in the first couple of hours of his morning. Now it looks like he's going to surf in the 50s and 60s for a while. He had a "half-meal" that he didn't really want at +4 (an hour ago) and will get the rest at +8, unless he seems hungry or his numbers warrant it before then.

I have been playing with food to slow the drops -- you may want to have the experts take a look and see if they have suggestions after viewing your ss--I think Dre has lost his title to Squallie:cat:

And the Olympic medal for high diving goes to: Squallie! No fur shot there! Lucy have you seen the stickie on feeding the curve?

Nice surfing Squallie!:D 70's surfs are just as good, and easier on the bean. Squallie really likes Lantus. :)

For kitties that like to dive early, it often helps to give several mini meals at the beginning of the cycle, preshot and +1, +2, +3.

I read it through, thanks! I guess that's kind of what I'm doing? I give him a bit of his regular LC food if I think he needs to slow down the drop, and either high or medium carb if it looks like he's going to head into dangerous waters. Is that the same thing as feeding the curve? I don't know what to do to stop that early, first drop. His BG is always high in the morning then starts dropping fast around +2. Should I be feeding him a HC breakfast? Somehow that seems self-defeating, to me!

Maybe not a HC breakfast, but a +1 and +2 snack of something on the higher end of low carb to start. You may even have to try medium carb. Trying to manipulate with food is an experiment. You have to try one thing for a while, see what works, then tweak. Don't expect immediate results.

I feed him his full breakfast but he divides it up himself into smaller feedings, lol. He'll usually eat about half of it at breakfast time then the rest about 1-2 hours later.

I can try small meals with slightly higher carbs and see how that works. I have to do it for all four of my cats, though, that should be fun, lol! He also still stays higher at night (probably wouldn't have that huge morning drop if I could get his night-time BG down!) and I don't know what to do about that.
