What is the difference between pancreatitis & diabetes? A lot of what my cat was doing when i took him to the vet was similiar to the what people are saying is pancreatitis. The vet never mentioned anything about pancreatitis to me. What do I need to know about it and is it part of diabetes or a separate issue not related to diabetes?

Pancreatitis is very common with diabetes. Both involve the pancreas. Here are 2 sites with information. They are separate issues. Pancreatitis is treated and you adjust diabetes around the flares or acute attacks.

This is something new for me. Now I know a wee bit about it, I believe Smokey has had flares for many many years before I took him.

His symptoms were walking away from food and when he did eat, vomited immediately, stinky stinky poo. Had to really push vet for test. They didn't think he had it.
