? Making shots ahead?

Forgive me if this is an absolute no no, but is it possible to make shots ahead of time? Would be nice if I could fill 2 syringes the night before for the next day's doses, or at least 1 for the morning dose. Can I do this & just recap them & store in fridge & maybe just roll them to mix before shooting?

Which insulin is your cat on? I know you definetly can NOT pre-fill a syringe with Lantus or Levemir.

Hospitals and nursing homes prefill Novolin syringes all the time. You have to draw up Lantus and levemir immediately before you use it though.

It is not recommended to prefill syringes because they have a lubricant coating that degrades the insulin.

I do pre-fill for the pet sitter but I wouldn't recommend it on a regular basis.

It is OK to prefill that insulin. You do have to mix it before injecting.
