Doodles 3/19 After much searching I found info on drug interactions with Lantus for both of his new meds. I believe the Lasix/Furosemide is causing these crazy highs especially the big jumps after shot time. As the day goes on and the Lasix starts wearing off his numbers come down a little. Good news, the open mouth breathing has lessoned significantly

His appy is pretty good and seems to like the Tiki sardine flavors (so gross!). It was nice to see him hanging out with us most of the day and fingers crossed it continues.

...and I know exactly what you mean about the Tiki Sardine food. I don't like the smell of fish in general, but Sardines are almost too much to handle.

Very gross but honestly it's such an appropriate flavor of food for a cat! Have you ever seen a kitty in the wild eat a cow, turkey or chicken I say to DH all the time...wonder why there isn't pigeon flavored cat food

I know and the other food is still S&C. He was really slowing down with the FF and others so for now it's what ever he'll eat

Yep, eating comes first and is great for now until he adjusts to the meds. I'm hoping the BG will come down when that happens. Is S&C high in sodium? I really do'[t think it's high in carbs. Max's favorite food that he gets only after fluids and just one piece is another fd one, Feline Natural Chicken and Lamb. It's very low carb but high phosphorus so Max can't have it. After his fluids he waits by the bathroom door for me to get the treat and then sits there until he realizes he won't get any more. Before I started that he would run and hide immediately after he was released. Don't know the sodium count but it might be worth checking out.

It's low in sodium and per the nutrition calculator it's 2.7% carbs. Attached is the "as fed" they sent me.

No, I don't think it raised his BG's. Happy to feed it if he eats it! He's actually expanding into the Duck and Turkey now too

I went ahead and increased to 4.75. His good appy was short lived after breakfast not so great but is eating some. Looks pretty miserable at the moment but at least his in HIS bed right next to me. I put a call into the vet tomorrow and ask for that other med to be compounded.
