Tiger is in bad shape. Her IBS has flared up again. She is not eating and very weak. I have been force feeding her. She went to the vet yesterday and is on all kinds of meds and fluids. Poor baby.

Mischief has a lot of weird crusty nodules covering her body. They don't seem to be bothering her though. The vet said she had never seen anything like them. She took a scraping and did see a lot of bacteria. So she was prescribed antibiotics and predsolone. She has been on them for a week and still no improvement.

Prayers being sent! Kitties sure do come up with some odd stuff, Goof had a small sore/hole on his side and developed a big staph infection. I hope you babies are better soon! :bighug:

Prayers and healing vibes on their way for Tiger and Mischief, and :bighug:s for you, Lisa.

I hope the fluids give Tiger a bit of a boost. They really helped Saoirse when I had to do the emergency admission last Sunday fortnight when she was really struggling to eat. I got such a shock when I saw her that morning; she was so poorly. Saoirse picked up hugely after about 30 hours of IV fluids and was better again after another 24 hours on the drip. I really hope the fluids and other meds will do Tiger a power of good.

I also hope that the antibiotics and steroid quickly sort out Mischief's skin problem.

Yes, they gave her fluids yesterday and I am supposed to give them every other day. I have given them to her in the past and she is usually very good about just laying there while getting them.

Tiger is still not doing any better. She seems very weak. The vet did prescribe Tramadol for her since she is very uncomfortable. She still is not eating on her own. Please send her your healing wishes.

Tiger is going back to the vet again this morning, she still is not eating. She normally goes to an all cat clinic, but today I am taking her to my dog's vet. The cat clinic is on the other side of town and since she sometimes gets stressed in the car, I don't want to add that to the problem. My dog's vet is about 5 minutes away. Hopefully they can figure out what is going on. Please keep your healing wishes coming.

The good news is that it appears the diarrhea may be over. Her poop was a little solid today.

We went to the vet and she is concerned that Tiger's intestine feels very thick. She was able to get her scheduled for an ultrasound today. I am at their office now waiting for them to finish and go over the results. I am hoping that it is not cancer.

They did the ultrasound and also a biopsy on her lymph nodes. The ultrasound did show that there is some thickening of the intestine walls in some areas and also the lymph nodes that are near the intestines are larger than normal. They did the biopsy on the lymph nodes to determine if there is cancer or something else causing the enlargement. I should have the results back by Wednesday. Keep her in your prayers.

They called me this morning and confirmed she has cancer. Because of her age (17) and the type of cancer she has, which is very aggressive, I decided not to put her through chemo and do pain management instead. Even if I had decided to treat, it would have only add maybe 4-6 months to her life expectancy.

I am very sad to hear this news. :( Sending prayers for comfort for both you and Tiger. Cherish every moment ...

Lisa, I'm SO sorry that's what it ended up being....cancer sucks. Continued prayers as you walk this path with her....she is in the best hands.

HUGS and hugs,

I am so sorry about Tiger's diagnosis:( Intestinal cancer sure has been hitting hard around here. Prayers for some good quality time yet with Tiger.

Lisa I am so sorry IBD is such a horrific disease - is it lymphoma? I do hope the pain management goes well - you both are in my thoughts and prayers

Yes, it is lymphoma and the aggressive type.

I have a question regarding her care. On one of the websites that I looked at to research this, it recommended that in addition to the normal cancer and/or pain management treatments, to build up her immune system by switching to a diet of naturally prepared or organic cat foods, rich in nutrients and without chemical preservatives. Has anyone here that has experience with cancer do this and found it beneficial for their cat?

so very sorry, but it ain't over until the fat lady sings. I will just send her healing rainbows and hope that maybe they can figure out something to do go give quality life

So sorry to hear the news about Tiger. Cancer just plain sucks and there's no nice way to put that.

Sending vines and prayers and healing light your way in hopes that she has lots of quality time left to share with you :bighug::bighug::bighug:
