Riding a bounce

I obviously know that there is nothing you can do for a bounce but lily has had black readings the majority of the day and I am worried about DKA.

Don't know what to do regarding overnight feeding etc.

Have you been testing for ketones? The blacks are definitely a concern for a kitty who has had DKA in the past and although it takes some time for a bounce to clear I understand your concerns. Perhaps a quick call to your vet might be a good idea.

I still have not been able to get any Ketostix. It is nearly 11pm here though, so can't call the vet. I'll see how
She goes in the morning, I guess that's all I can do for now.

If Lily is eating and drinking well then that is a good indication. These bounces are very frustrating since they can take a day or two to resolve. It would be a good idea to have some ketodiastix on hand as soon as you are able to get some. Even though they don't tell exactly what is happening at that exact moment they can give you a warning if ketones are developing again. There are blood ketone testers available as well but I believe the strips are rather expensive.

She is definitely doing all of that (she's a bit confused as to why I am watching her every move!).

The USUAL problems that lead to DKA are a combination of not enough food, infection, not enough insulin. The only thing Lily has at this time is the higher numbers, which is not great for a DKA cat, but since that is from a bounce giving more insulin is not an option. Fingers crossed that Lily comes off the bounce quickly.
