Did a full curve today...thinking Joshi may be ready for a smaller dose

I had a chance to do a full curve today...I suspected her overall numbers were trending down just from her preshots and what testing I could fit in. Both preshot numbers were below 300 (AM and PM). I did give her full dose in the morning. At AMPS+4, she was a 60. Okay, getting way to close to low. I fed her a little mid-carb food (Purina DM dry) to start. About an hour later, she was up to 78. Fed a little more of same food - hour later she was at 105, just in time for the afternoon feeding for everyone. Now, the PMPS reading is 252. With the exception of her lower readings, I'm pretty pleased.

I may try 2.5 U tonight instead 3 U, see if that has any effect.

You don't have any light green numbers. It will be interesting to watch if your nadirs go up in response to the dose decrease. But if you do curves so seldom, how will you know what happens with the nadir?

Nice job on the curve! It looks like a great day - nice surf in greens and blues. The only thing that doesn't look great is the fast, harsh drop, from 212 to 60 in 2 hours. Maybe try giving a snack during that time frame to flatten out the drop? No need for higher carb on a 60. I'd try some regular food first and retest in 30 minutes. I like your doses, with a little more for the 281 and a little less for the 252. No bounce for preshot, which is good news.

Overall, a nice curve!

I had a bit of scare of a couple weeks ago when she was 72 at PMPS+2, which given her usual drop, could have ended up way, way too low. So, I'm cautious. I work full-time during the week, so I'm unable to do full curves as frequently as I'd like. I feel bad about that, but I'm doing the best I can.

I do leave out food for that reason - plus we have six other cats, so it's quite the balancing act. We are discovering things that working well for everyone - which may also be why Joshi is presenting with lower numbers. In any case, we'll probably need to talk to talk to our vet soon, maybe re-evaluate her dose. Overall, Joshi's treatment hasn't hit any major complications (hope I didn't just jinx by saying that! :nailbiting:)
