I talked to my vet a little while ago and I'm really worried. Tge creatinine went up to 5.3 from 4.2 in just one month. Four months ago it was 2.6. His BUN went up to 92 from 80 and was 41 four months ago. His calcium is elevated too a little. The only good news was the phosphorus went down from 5.7 to 5.2. I started fluids tonight and it went okay. He's going to have the radiologist do another ultrasound next Thursday. He wants to make sure a stone isn't causing this. He thinks this is accelerating too fast and isn't sure why. Now I'm second guessing myself for not asking for the radiologist sooner. Prayers are appreciated. Thanks.

I know it's useless to tell you not to stress about it, but don't stress too much. Don't know that I've ever prayed for a kidney stone, but I'm praying for one now.

Hang in there. You have a lot of people praying for Max and sending good vines his way. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending our biggest and best vines your way!!

It doesn't do any good to second guess yourself either, Elise. These kitties of ours are always full of surprises and there's just no way to test for everything all the time. Their quality of life wouldn't be worth living if we tried, so we do the best we can and when we have a definite answer, we move forward :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm sorry about the worrying results, the flying kangaroos are on the way with their pouches stuffed full of vines for Max. Keeping our paws crossed for you both.

I feel like Max is losing the battle.
Elise

Please don't think that. Fluids should help Max flush his kidneys and keep him going until his time comes. Until then enjoy every day with your sweet Max.
Sending healing vines and prayers for Max. Hugs for you. We are thinking of you and Max.

Prayers from us, too. Fluids can make a world of difference. I would wonder, too, if he may have some sort of "hidden" infection. Please check out Trix's labs...last year her numbers did skyrocket and then improved a bit after running a course of Zeniquin. She really didn't have any outward signs of infection - WBC fine but she did culture positive for a trace of enterrocous...barely, though - it didn't seem like enough to cause her crazy numbers. But, for some reason, the ABs really did help.

And or course it's easier said than done, but try to focus on Max the cat, not Max the numbers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending tons of healing vines and Prayers for Max and many hugs for you. I know it can be so stressful when our kitties have something going on.:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
