I read the ingredients and also put it back, but I just started this label reading and wasn't for sure if I knew what I was looking at, lol.

Woody is looking pretty good.

No insulin for over 14 days and just barely over an ideal 120 on average. Nice work!

I know!!! I am thrilled he's doing so well. He's also losing a little weight and becoming a little more active. They both loved being outside with us yesterday while we worked in the garden. The virus in both Buzz and Woody eyes has reappeared. I took them to our new vet and they gave them more ointment for their eyes. The ointment contains a steroid. Will that affect the BG. Also, the vet I visited with a week ago wasn't there, and the vet I saw tried to push the prescription diet, ugggggghhhhhh. Not with these numbers will I feed them that, :)

I doubt the steroid in the eye ointment would have much of an effect if any. The biggest problem is with steroid shots and the pills while a concern are slightly less problematic depending on dose too. I'd keep an eye (no pun intended!:woot:) on both of them but I doubt it'll have any negative effect. Losing weight to boot, you and Woody are really making progress! Good for you standing your ground re: diet. Those Rx diets and how the vets push them will never cease to amaze me!:banghead: I'm so happy to see you all doing so well!:bighug:

Buzz is the black cat and Woody is the white/orange one. Buzz hates getting his picture taken. I worked for weeks to get this one! Buzz is 11 months older than Woody. He will be 14 in April. Woody will be 13 March 4th. Their personalities come through on this pic. Buzz looks heavier, but Woody outweighs him by a pound. He looks like your avatar!

That's too funny! My little sugar Menace is a black cat who hates the camera too! Getting a decent shot is a real PIA! My other furkids practically pose for the camera! You've got a couple of real cuties there! And early Happy Birthday wishes for both of them. I forgot you are using the AT meter so ideal numbers are under 150 and that means Woody only has a few days to go before you can declare him OTJ too. Hope you are making combination birthday/OTJ party plans! :cat::cat:

Sorry, I didn't understand what you were referring to when you said Friskies Concoctions! That's the first I've heard of them. If you really want to find out the carbs, etc, in these, your best bet would be to contact the manufacturer, since they are so new on the market. :)

I read the ingredients and also put it back,
Smart move, MO2F. A quick scan of the ingredients shouts, "Step away now! Save yourself the bother of working out the carb %". Not grain-free plus lots of nasties like added salt, artificial flavourings, soy(!), carrageenan(!!), spices (???!!! When's the last time you saw a cat with a hankering for a vindaloo?).

They look like products whose primary design focus is to be appealing to potential customers instead of focusing on providing healthy nutrition for a feline.

Received a couple of cans as samples in some Tidy Cat litter. My cats loved it, and one is a picky eater that prefers kibble to canned. He's my bladder stone kitty so I need to get canned food into him that is low in Phosphorus. My other cat is diabetic. So I have been trying various foods that fit both needs and they quickly become bored.
I emailed Friskies about this food, requesting carb and Phosphorus info, but got no response. Figured it was not a good choice due to the gravy, but my cats sure like it!
