Doodles & Karen

Doodles Flying High Well the boy is a mystery and I personally dislike mysteries! Doodles got an increase and is back to the 1.5u club:arghh:. After a month & 1/2 of beautiful numbers I told him this is pretty ridiculous and hopefully he'll work the increase nicely. Think it's time he also joins the 3 and under rule for reductions....we'll see.

OT - we had one heck of a thunderstorm late last night. 50mph winds, windows rattling. AZ t-storms are like no others ....fast and furious, in and out. Once there is a glimpse of daylight I'll be fishing patio furniture out of a 30 degree pool and across the yard:rolleyes:

Vines and scritches for all the kitties.

Work that increase, Doodles! Yes, these kitties do like to baffle us. Trix would be perfectly regulated for months on end, then all of a sudden, for no apparent reason, she'd fall out of regulation for a while. Never did figure out why...finally gave up and just let her set the rules.

Yikes on that storm - I'm glad you guys are safe!!!

Have a great day, Karen!

Fingers and paws crossed that he will head back into the lagoon to play with his friends soon. ...and that sounds like quite the storm. We have the potential for thundersnow tomorrow. One of my personal favorites and something that is unheard of where I grew up.

My family is in AZ--they are storm watchers…hope your home is in tact. Doodles slide down :cat: maybe it stressed him?

I hope Doodles finds his way back down soon!

At least you've got a project for the day....thanks Mother Nature!

Aw, sorry to see the pink. This yellow spree is pretty mysterious. I can't help wondering if he isn't well in some small way. If something hurts or his stomach is a little out of order. It happens to us humans all the time and animals don;t show things as much as people do. We're cheering Doodles on to get back the heck down where he belongs!

I love thunderstorms and Arizona sure does have an interesting relationship with rain. DH lived in Tucson for a couple of years and still talks about it. I've been there a couple of times. Fell in love with La Posada in Winslow!

If we don't see this "spell" ending in very near future I'll take him in for bloodwork. When I had the vet look at his teeth during his acupuncture visit she just looked and said, a little tarter and left it at that. He's been visiting the garage quite a bit...did he get into something?? I watch him like a hawk out there and he's not one to "eat" or lick" anything but lord knows. Realize that some cats "just do this" but finding it odd and doing best not to panic. Other than a little lazy, all 5 p's have been great.

pretty mysterious
You know, honestly I think it is a result of having to go down in dose when he needed to go up and the depot was depleted and now we just have to work back up. There is a good game of chase going of with civie Moo and I just don't see any signs that he's not feeling well. Also, as Wendy pointed out yesterday if I were hitting scare tissue that affected the absorption rate which added insult to injury.

I definitely think it was a failed reduction and you might find you have to go up even more to kickstart him but that's ok. I'm glad you are able to do TR now so we can give him six cycles and see what he does. We will have to see about the NDW and if he gets it.....hope not. Come on Doodles....think :D:D:D again!!! M

We got a really intense storm last night here in Tucson and windy...holy cow! Snow on the mountains today.

Could you please do us a favor and move the 2016 tab on his SS to the left so when we click on the link in your signature, it pops open the current SS. Right now, it opens 2015 and if members aren't observant and checking the dates, they might offer suggestions based on the wrong SS. Thank you :bighug: And if you need help with it, just PM me.

Reacting to bad dosing decisions :(
I'm with Andy - don't get down on yourself, Karen. All that you were trying to do was make the decision that was best for Doodles. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), none of us are able to predict the future and there is no way that you could have predicted these numbers. It sounds like he is feeling great though - and that sure counts for a lot!

It sounds like Doodles is feeling great, even if it is not reflected in his numbers.

He'll get back to surfing in no time, it just feels like an eternity at the moment:bighug::bighug:

I don't know if it's just a coincidence or not, but as soon as we decided to try Ivana on the triple-earned reductions, she immediately flattened into greens and blues after constant bouncing-diving for 5 months. It's worth a try I reckon!
I think that'll be my new strategy with Walter too... if he ever gives me a chance to reduce his dose again.

Well, resorted to making a chocolate cake from scratch with homemade double chocolate cream cheese frosting.
Karen, enjoy the cake - that sounds delicious!

Come on Doodles- lets fine a settled place to be:)

Chocolate Cake.. Thunderstorms.. sounds great!! I love a good storm- we don't get them very often where I live, well not at all.. occasionally some thunder, but not like when I lived in the midwest!

Don't beat yourself up over it Karen! Sometimes we have to try something new when the old something doesn't seem to be working!
Are you back to TR now that Doodles has decided to eat the canned food?
The cake sounds yummy!
