Doodles 1/30 Doodles was a happy active boy yesterday and is back on board with his wet food. (anti-jinx).

Planned on going BTB for a little bit but his AMPS this morning has me wide awake. Have to think it could be NDW or possibly a bounce but I just don't see a bounce. Maybe someone has more insight. Taking him down to 1 unit for a few days and back up to 1.25 could certainly blame these wonky numbers I think. :confused::confused:

I'm with you it doesn't look like a bounce, and as it is his fifth cycle on this dose not sure if we can blame NDW

Did Doodles get any dry yesterday?? It's said that that dry can take a long time to work out of the system. Sorry no enlightenment from me on that quandary, perhaps he is just being a cat and throwing it in there for you to scratch your head?

Good news on Doodles liking his wet food again, ain't that just typical of a cat?:)

He hasn't had any YAZC in 2 days. Honestly since he's had a little YAZC for most of his time here I wouldn't even blame that. I questioned NDW too because of it being the 5th cycle but guess looking for "a reason". We'll see what he does today....very confused. He hasn't been this high in well over a month :(

I don't see it being a bounce; he hasn't had any low numbers in a few days and even those ones were barely green.
NDW? Possibly? Should be out of his system shortly though since this is his 5th cycle at 1.25.
Curious as to what he will do today :confused:
 
Here he is after winning the "king of the couch" chase game yesterday afternoon. This morning he seems just fine too.

You know what Karen I think what Mr Doodles needs is a dosecrease threat;)

Perhaps the threat of a dosecrease threat will have the same effect:)

Doodles, you already won the "king of the couch" game - you don't have to climb up on the trampoline to celebrate. Maine Coons look much better in blues and greens anyways... And he is such a handsome boy!
 
Glad you've decided to come back to the dark side;)

I might hold the dose for one or 2 more cycles....Pimp has had late responses to some similar dose changes as you've just put Doodles through. Just my $.02

I'm not sure what to do so doing nothing at the moment. Also think he might have some scare tissue developing at the injection area. A few times recently it feels like the needle is going through "tougher" feeling skin.
 
Hi Karen… These cats are truly a mystery!! Try not to think so hard about it….it will pass and you will make the right decision on what to do from there. Doodles is a beautiful boy and lucky to have such a devoted mommy. Hang in there:cat:
He seems very happy despite him driving you crazy ;)
 
That is mysterious. I would be worried myself about increasing so soon with just one high cycle. I suppose it isn't likely, but it is possible he got very low overnight. Or that something is just off in how he feels. With his really nice recent record, I'd not want to risk that the increase would be just too much. This is just me thinking out loud, since I don't feel comfortable, with only two cats' worth of experience, offering advice.

He ate a big breakfast so could be...he's been known to do that but it passed for a while and has been present again as of recently. He did "jump" a bit with his shot this morning but pretty sure he got it as there was "no smell". Have to see what his +4.5 is which is the next feeding.
 
He's running around the house like nothing is wrong at all. Poop is normal, pee is normal. Honestly his bowls have been great for weeks and no vomits etc. He honestly had a big drop for him from PMPS to +4.5 last night so it's possible he did get low enough to bounce. Right now he's busy chasing his sister Moo.:rolleyes:
 
I don't think it is NDW and a high before a break only comes after a bounce. He had stopped bouncing but that doesn't mean he wouldn't start again but I don't see anything triggering a bounce unless he eked down last night. However, that just doesn't fit his pattern or look like what he normally does.

You said he's feeling good...he looks gorgeous!! No evidence of any UTI, etc and no fur shot last night?

I'd just see how it plays out today. I know you were trying to deal with the dry food and SLGS so took him down but I think, if my memory serves, I felt he needed an increase so it might just be catching up to him.

Are you moving the injection site around? I alternate left and right side from AM to PM and move it around quite a bit. If you have any area with thickening, try to avoid using it for a while.

Down Doodles please, you are worrying your bean.

It's just one cycle Karen. Get out and shop and paws crossed he finds the way back down tonight..

Ok, we'll see what happens today and tonight. PMPS will be the 6th dose so if nothing good is seen do you think it's OK to increa

I do go around a bit but am aware of 1 particular spot that think is thickening. Ok, after his +4.5 and meal if he's still high I'll get out for a few hours. Thanks Wendy.
 
Wendy makes a good point that it could be an absorption issue if you hit a thick spot. I also always shot left in the a.m. and right in the p.m. and shot chest, side, and flank so we were always moving the shot.

This morning felt a little "thick" and he didn't like it. I'm going to cut down his hair today in the flank area although I do make sure the needle is clearly going into skin by parting his hair...luckily his skin is light. Ok, I'm going to sit on my hands for a bit and will revisit in a cycle or 2. Thanks for the help!
 
Come on Doodles- lets come on down. Hope you figure it out- and that it is just fur/thick spots getting in the way!!

OMG he is one regal looking lad. Love that pic. He is king of house not just the couch. I know I wouldn't be able to pick him up. I can't carry Smokey and he isn't as big.

lol - I'll have to find an old picture from years ago that really shows how big he his. His rescue foster parents named him "Big Boy"....still call him that sometimes :)
 
Fingers crossed he comes down tonight and tomorrow is a better day. Good news, the Stella & Chewys as toppers has him part of the CPC club since yesterday. Not so good, he slept most of the day since I was gone for a few hours and didn't go to the water fountain at all today.
