Yesterday morning was busy but with a 255 amps doesn't look like we will have that problem today so I should be able to get out and get some supplies when the shops open. First things first some:coffee::coffee: for me and as I am making for anyone else in need too:)

George has been singing as I have been writing his condo, and now he is just staring at me, not sure what he wants?? He is probably wondering whether he is going to get more breakfast today:rolleyes:

@Sienne and Gabby (GA) in response to your question on yesterdays condo(replying here as I didn't want to bump it up and cause confusion) I don't know if he has a gluten intolerance, loose BM have never been a problem, he has always been as regular as clockwork in that department, we only get loose stools after a little dive and he has the HC either the 20% or the 30% which are both purina gourmet the 20% mon petit and the 30% gold morsels in sauce. I have been looking at the ingredients on the packaging, and predictably it doesn't list Jack s**t (sorry I find it frustrating that the don't list all the ingredients) I have been scouring my online shop last night trying to find another HC food, and so far no luck:(. Before his FD diagnosis he was on Hills Metabolic dry for weight loss, ( I know I feel ashamed:() for about four years and BM were normal and firm, I haven't checked their ingredient list(I'll do that later today) but with the amount of carb in that it's bound to have wheat and therefore gluten. The loose BM doesn't seem to last, basically it's usually only once and then he is back to normal, so don't know if I should be concerned or not.
I am willing to have a go with adding honey instead of using the HC and see if that makes a difference, his MC 13%is cosma thai, and that has rice no wheat listed, when I have used that to steer he hasn't had problems, so I could use that as his base and add honey/syrup but how much?? Is it a case of experiment and see??

Thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday with advice and words of encouragement, it's so great to know that I have your support, I am also going to thank my vet (though she won't see it) she was supportive as always and it's such a relief to know that she is willing to see George in an emergency out of hours, thankfully we didn't need to go there.:)

It looks like you had a crazy day yesterday. I hope you can find something to help get his numbers up that doesn't upset his system. George come back down.

Hi Georgie--sounds like I missed a bunch of things yesterday! I sure hope George is feeling good and you can get things done as I know with it is hard with a cat with FD to keep things in order--they like to keep us guessing (and messing the house!) ok at least mine

Hi Guys,

We had some bounce clearing action just as I was heading out the door, the local stores don't open till 10am which is +3, coinciding with onset for George, how inconsiderate:rolleyes:
Anyways gave him half his lunch early accompanied by a teaspoon of MC @ +2ish to keep him up and set the auto feeder to dispense some food @ +3ish just in case. DH got back before me and thankfully he was in blue, we've been out for lunch and he has surfed in blue it seems, so all is good in the spanish hills:)
Come on down George, these extremes are so dramatic , LOL Gill, you had to work hard to get him down safely with all the HC yesterday, not surprising he'd go up. @Andy & Pimp , what the heck are you doing up so early, LOL?
I know, I was thinking that throughout the whole performance:rolleyes:

@Andy & Pimp I've been thinking that I need to set up his feeding schedule to feed his curve, essentially this is what I had been doing before my trip, but sort of playing it by ear a bit, in the hope that it would be come clear to me what I should do, I think I need to study his spread sheet come up with a schedule and see how it works, my biggest problem will be keeping still, monitoring and not tinkering to see where it would actually take him. I feel an 'experiment' coming on.

I'm thinking I'll give the honey mixed in with his 13% a try next time I need it, and see if we still have a loose BM problem, you'll all be pleased to know that he pooped at 1pm and poop was normal and well formed:)

I'm happy he has come down into blue, and as bounces go he seems to have got over it pretty sharpish, let's see if he holds this reduction, he sure as heck wanted it!

As far as figuring the feeding schedule, I started by looking at the times that he would wake up and ask for food, and then considered what times in the cycle I have had to feed to keep him high enough. If you can come up with something that satisfies those 2 categories you should be well on your way.
I hope George hasn't found another bounce after that fast drop this morning!

So glad George cleared his bounce and that he surfs safe today.
I think he passed the "Bouncy ball" to Michael (amps 367)lol.
You are doing a great job!

Thanks, at the moment as far as waking up for food goes if he ain't diving its amps +5.5 pmps +3.5. So pretty much his routine as it is. Aside from that he asks for food when he drops suddenly. So I need to
Ook back and see what worked and take it from there, some homework for me:bookworm::bookworm::bookworm: :)

Guess pmps will tell me if he's back on the trampoline;)

Lol well they are wearing the same team kit;)

pmps of 116, so doesn't look like that fast drop kicked off a bounce:)

+1 148 food spike so that bodes well for a good nights sleep (anti jinx) hopefully it's an indication he will surf (paws crossed he hasn't decided to bounce after all)

with the food spike @ +1 wasn't going to test till +3 but George go off his bed came for a cuddle and seemed to be peckish, tested and got 111@+2, so looks like we may have an active cycle.

Have given him 1tsp of his regular LC, will get a +3, just in case, don't trust him much after the other morning.

George is doing really well, Gill. He is spending a ton of time in normal numbers and his bounces, fewer and farther between, are also lower and shorter.
Regarding feeding, At some point you may want to stop trying to be ahead of his plans and just see what he'll do on his own. Or come up with a feeding plan, put it in place, and fine-tune the dose to fit. Did you ever try a slightly higher carb food for his regular meals? I think it could really help with the dives. Whatever you do we know you will do it well, your dedication shines through on a daily basis.:)

Thanks Andy,

I have got some higher LC food, lots of exciting new flavours for him to try :)got it just before I went away, haven't tried it yet, was waiting to get back on to an even keel after the sitter reduction, and then of course yesterday happened:eek:
The higher LC food, is also higher in calories, and George, ideally, needs to shed some pounds, and that has been happening steadily on the current regime, that's why I am a bit reticent to change anything. Changing to his current FD diet has been great for his waistline. (which reminds me I need to weigh him again see how he is doing).

I was tempted not to do anything tonight with that lower number and just see where he went, but we have things to do tomorrow and wanted to try and avoid an early cycle shark hunt and a late night trying to recover from it, when he drops like that early in the cycle he can gather quite some momentum, I found that earlier on when I wasn't trying to feed the curve. In my head I am thinking that in his new schedule I will give him a snack at around +2 or +2.5 then a small meal around +5 and a snack at around +6.5 (he has done some late diving too)

He has snuggled up with DH now, so I think all is well with his numbers, probably surfing, he seems to get excitable when he is dropping quick rather than the actual number, if that makes any sense.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that, and I sure don't blame you:). Wait for a daytime cycle when you feel good!
Whatever you try with the feed schedule I think you're on the right track. ;)

Holy guacamole, I just read yesterday's deep-sea diving post. George! Buddy! What the heck were you thinking going down to 33??? Hope your nerves have settled by now Gill! :coffee: (coffee icon only because there is no wine icon hehe)
