Doodles 1/25 Lets see what Mr. Doodles decides to do today. I'm afraid his body is forgetting what green feels like. It appears he had a mini bounce from the late drop yesterday but not sure. His numbers aren't horrible by any means but they could be better.

OT, my tattoo artist is world known for his fine-line black/grey detail and mostly portraits. His work is actually in a few museums (can't remember which). I've asked him do draw a canvas portrait of Doodles and he agreed! Super excited about it:) Sure it'll be a while before done because he does travel the world most of the time.

Can't wait to see pictures of the portrait!! ...and it's still a nice start - hopefully, Doodles has some more green in store for you today!
 
+2 169 really Doodles! What in the heck is going on?

Edited - pulled out the AT and sure enough it was 202.

If I was every concerned about numbers and didn't know whether to go up or down, I went up in dose. It does look like he's doing these inverted curves (which can also mean not enough insulin) but if he were mine and you didn't see some good numbers today, I'd increase.

Others may have different ideas and I'll get some other thoughts for you.

Thanks Marje. I've been sitting on my trigger finger for a few days. Unless this is a HIGH before a low which he'll show me, otherwise he's back to the 1.5 club. Enjoy your time away with Mike...much deserved :bighug:

After much pondering & thinking we are going back to SLGS and will be taking a reduction tonight to 1 unit at PMPS. Doodles will now be free fed YACZ as the wet food nightmare needs to end. I realize this decision is not looked upon as favorable but it's something DH and I discussed and made the decision to try.

I probably won't be posting daily condo's any longer but will be checking on the kitties as I've grown to adore them all very much!

You have to do what works with your kitty - ECID so no judgements here! You can still post here daily even if you're doing SLGS - quite a few members are SLGS folks so please don't think you can't post because you're doing SLGS. We're still here to help and support you!!

I agree with Amy. I takes what it takes.:bighug: Some of us like our regular Doodle fix too. Cute pic. Both mine completely ignored the fountain.

Best of luck with the new plan. You never know until you try something how well it will work. The boy has to eat.

I really hope that you will continue to post - I would definitely miss our daily Doodles condo! But I understand where you are coming from. At the end of the day, it is about finding the best treatment plan for you and for your cat. There's no sense in trying to turn Doodles into something that he is not and making him miserable in the process. Clearly, you have given the canned food your best shot. The best food for your cat is the food that he will eat and I think he has made it very clear that he is a crunchy food kind of cat.
 
I had to do a double-take on your picture....at first I thought "How did he get that thing stuck on his head"?....LOL

I agree on the idea of "keep posting"!....I might not get a chance to comment a lot on Doodle's condo's, but I'd miss reading about him and what he's up to!
 
I hope you continue to post, I too would miss his condos.

At the end of the day ECID and you have given the wet your best shot, and you have to do what works for you as a CG and Doodles.

Hope slgs works out for you.:)
 
I would miss everyone too so thanks for your support. FYI - he hasn't had any wet food since this morning but did chow on the YAZC this afternoon. Hoping he learns to eat on his own again instead of "me" deciding when he should eat and practically forcing it. Be rest assured if it doesn't work we'll be back to the traditional protocols as his health is my number one concern.

Keeping a close eye on him in order to keep him safe as this may or may not change the game drastically.
 
Love that pic of him 'attached' to his fountain. He looks a lot like my Smokey , a little different in the face but that's it.

I follow SLGS because there is dry in the house. Hubby tends to let Smokey get into it. I don't see why you would have leave for that. If Doodles does better on dry, so be it. ECID. Please stay. We need our Doodle fix.

You have to do what you think is best for Doodles. I hope the change will help him eat more and feel better.

@Andy & Pimp I do plan to just free feed YAZC without the wet food.

Shooting a reduced dose of 1 unit....a bit nervous but will monitor. Please note, I am certainly not promoting my decision and won't know if it's a good one until we see what happens.
 
Wouldn't it be awesome if this is what he needed and goes OTJ?? I know is a little nerve wracking but could be exciting too!!! Please keep us updated :)

Aww, don't go. This isn't a TR lantus/levimer forum, it's for both. I'm doing more SLGS right now because I can't consistently test like TR does.
I can't wait to see the portrait! My tat guy is an artist beyond his tattooing too! His sketches are amazing!
