Doodles 1/24 Hoping to see more greens today but with a vet visit my expectations are pretty low. We canceled last week but off we go to get his teeth looked at and acupuncture. Hope his teeth are good and no dental is needed especially extractions.

Hope all the kitties are well and the everyone has a good day.

Good luck at the vetty bean and with the acupuncture. How often does Doodles get it? Does the vet do it or do you go somewhere else?

He was going every two weeks, then once a month but we've slacked and the last session was 12/9. His regular vet does it and actually suggested it for his IBD as she's also getting certified in Chinese Medicine. Think it really helped with his neuropathy too. The Internal Med vet (same company) wanted him on a slew of meds for the IBD but this one is more than OK with treating him alternatively.

That is great! I wish I could find a good holistic vet. All the ones I have gone too are also very drug happy. Glad you are getting a good result with it. Doodles is one lucky kitty.

Sending lots of good vetty vines! I really wish we had a local vet that does acupuncture. My vet offers laser treatments and I have had great results with that for pain, especially in my elderly dogs.

That 152 @ +5.5 is just getting back from the vet and he had his usual lunch early before we left @ +3 so I can't really count this cycle for anything other than it is. However he only gets a few more cycles to show more greens then he goes up to 1.5 soon.

The vet was literally a zoo today, dogs barking, cats meowing....completely nuts in there! Vet scale showed he is 17lb 1oz so think in order to lesson my worry I won't be weighing him at home anytime soon:confused:. A little tarter on his teeth but gums and all looked good so no need for further investigation. In regard to his difficult diet she is fine with the little dry with the wet he does consume along with tight regulation. She's thrilled at his progress.

He didn't do so well with acupuncture today...a bit cranky about it, jump off the couch and hid underneath. Despite the unpleasant activity for him this morning he's happy to be home and doing fine. We'll check him later in the afternoon around +9 to see if the stress has worn off.

Thanks for the vines and support!

Vetty must have been very stressful for him with loud dogs around! Boomer always runs and hides when he comes home....like he thinks we're going to turn around put him back in the carrier and take him back

I actually leave the carrier out and he sleeps in it sometimes. If Moo goes in there he chases her out! It was so busy in there today, the dogs were just non stop...hopefully he'll come back down later this evening but even the last few cycles have been looking like an increase :(

Our civvie Allen would walk right into the carrier!
Our boys.....Boomer and Doodles....what are we going to do with them?:confused:

Actually not a bad cycle considering that he went to the vet and that it was so loud and crazy there. My cats live with some big, drooly, noisy dogs - but they HATE seeing strange dogs at the vet's office when they feel vulnerable in a carrier. My vet actually started having some "cat-only" appointment times throughout the week to make everything a little less stressful on their feline patients.

That would be ideal! Most of the time it isn't to bad. She was also 30 min behind so we were there for 1.5 hours to boot.
My vet used to have a doggy day care as well....when you walked in the door you suddenly had several droolers all over you. It really irritated me, especially when I had a kitty in a carrier because I really didn't think that (possibly) sick kitty needed the stress.
Luckily that vet sold the business to my current vet who is awesome! He often brings his own dogs into work with him but they are kept behind the counter so they can't greet customers and they're used to being there so they don't bark usually.

Nice job, Doodles! Apparently, you just have to act all happy and confident and your numbers will follow. You should give some other kits lessons on that! :D

gotta love it when the threat works :D

ize not sold on dat puncturing either Doodles, i find it good to puncture da bean at da same time so she knows how it feels!

Nice recovery for PMPS Doodles! :D

I schedule Neko's acupuncture appointments for the first one after lunch. Or at least I try to. That way if there is a drooler in the waiting room we just head straight into the back room. I'm curious to see what your vet says about TCM, if any, for Doodles. Civie Theo's vet is a regular vet with acupuncture and TCM training and has him on wei ling tan. But it's not a solution by itself, more a supportive thing.

Glad things went well at the vet.. Even if it was a little crazy in there. Doodles numbers sure look good tonight so far!!
