Ivana hit the greens last night, woohoo! Only very briefly before heading back up again into what looks like a bounce, but hey at least she's getting there after a wonky week.

She ate her midnight snack last night as soon as the feeder opened, but didn't want the breakfast I served up to her so I gave her another breakfast which she ate about half of (normal for her). She seems to have gone off the tins, which sounds about right seeing I just went and bought a heap of FD+CKD approved flavours... The chickens are loving getting her leftovers though, so nothing is going to waste.

It's going to be another stinking hot day today, even more so than yesterday. I'll be putting the aircon on very soon, but I will bet my life that Ivana will still hang out in the warmest room that the aircon doesn't reach - silly kitty! I've put a bowl of water in the room where she's likely to hang out, so at least she won't have to move far for a drink.

Miralax question: I think I read somewhere that the dosage is 1/8t? How often do you give that amount? Is it ok to give it to her when she's not quite eating properly yet, and hasn't pooped for a couple of days (due to not eating much I'm guessing)? Any other tips I need to know about using it, besides having lots of water available?

Ivana is being so darn precious about eating now. She loves pet mince, so I thought for sure she'd eat it all for lunch. Nope, didn't even touch it out of her bowl in her designated eating area (kitchen). That is, not until I put it on a human plate and delivered it to her while laying on the rug in the loungeroom and *then* she ate almost all of it. :banghead:

When Skooter was first constipated, he had a few days of 1/4 tsp twice a day, but once it became, shall we say sticky and I was finding it on pillows and such she was laying on, we took it down to 1/8 tsp twice a day and have been on that every since....

Oh gotta love those picky eaters...I am sure she just lounges around all day, seeing what she can get you to do for her lol

+2 is a bit of a drop from PMPS. Looks like another night of setting the alarm, which is a bit of a bugger because I have an early start at work tomorrow :arghh: If I see a green or blue through the night I promise to be less grumpy in the morning :-)

Congrats on the green last night Ivana. hmm, serving it up while HRH is on the lounge could be starting a real precedence around here. I am not telling Bubba that part. ;)

This is exactly how it goes here with Trix....has the bean caught between a rock and a hard place, but what can ya do? I feed Trix every couple hours this way. Needless to say, we go through lots of dishes (to the point where we run the dishwasher at least 3 times a day!). I'm afraid to let her "get hungry" to see if she'll eat enough on her own without me holding the plate, because our vet told me that because her kidneys are so bad if she goes even just a day with poor eating, she could spiral downward very quickly. I also think this is why Trix is doing so well despite teetering on the edge of Stage III and Stage IV CKD for almost 2 years now.

I'm glad Ivana is eating better! Hopefully she won't pick up on Trix's habits...

They do have us well trained don't they :):cat::)

Hope you get a blue tonight to make getting up worth it. I got an almost blue last night at +8 (1:30 AM). Had trouble getting back to sleep though. Hope you have a better time of it.
