Ivana is still bouncy as of last night, let's see if today is the turning point. The good news is that her bounces don't seem to be as high, as we haven't had any pinks yet.

Served HRH some of the new Wellness food this morning, beef and venison or something. It's a pate. The cans are pretty big (lucky, because they're expensive) so she is only getting 1/3 of a can as a meal. She loved it! I was a bit worried because she's never had pates before and we all know texture is important to a cat, but success.

In other news, after the antibiotic-in-a-ball-of-mince trick the other night, last night she didn't fall for that stunt. I shoved the tablet into a cube of her chicken treats that I have not yet dehydrated, and she sniffed it and looked at me like I was trying to poison her. So I took it out and wrapped it in a piece of roo meat. Nope - ate the meat and spat out the tablet. It was in two tiny pieces by now, so I thought it would be easy to shove it down her throat. Ha! Got growled at and everything. The upside was that I figured out I can add the tablet to her laxative gel and she loooooves it. Weird cat!

Sounds like the food migration is going well. :) Always nice to have options. LB still good?

I can't imagine how I'd do pilling if I didn't have Pill Pockets. You can try the trick of coating it with butter, or maybe coconut oil if you don't have butter around. Some people here buy small gel caps and stuff the pills in that. That's a good trick if you have to give multiple pills.

Ivana - how about some pretty blues today?

@Andy & Pimp, his trick of hydrating the freeze dried chicken and stuffing the pill in it, worked like a charm for me with my dog, Ricky.

They are so smart figuring out pilling. I hope the laxative gel keeps working. I hope Ivana slides down soon.

In my house pilling Gus is two people job. DH holds him and I shove pills with pill gun.

Sending anti bounce vines and well wishes for Ivana and you.

Yep, all good there :-) I've been a bit obsessed with checking (only you guys would understand haha)

Indeed they are, which is why I was so shocked that I was able to hide it in a ball of mince the other night. I guess I should be happy it worked even once! I did buy a Pill Popper yesterday, incase the food tricks stop working, so I've got that as a back-up plan.

I think it worked, we're down to blues! Looks like the bounce might be breaking, yay!

I just looked up Pill Pockets - ingenious!
As far as I am aware we can't get pill pockets here in Aus that are suitable for diabetics.
I just crush the pills up in the food and Sheba eats them no problem
The only pill I have to do something else with is the tramadol because it is bitter and makes them froth at the mouth. I put those in a gelcap and just put it down her throat and give her something to eat immediately afterwards. I suppose she spits it back out about once a week if that. Then we do it again!
ETA. The heart is a good idea except Sheba chews them and doesn't just swollow them, so would find the pill. but worth a try for Ivana

Threat issued, hope she comes down for you.
Is she still on ABs? Those numbers are good for a kitty with a waterworks infection. :)

Yes, I'm about to give her third dose, with another four doses to go (one per day for a week). Very good point though - I should probably wait til she's finished her antibiotics to increase her dose, or she may drop too low once her infection clears on a higher dose. Thanks for the reminder!

Sounds like things are falling into place for you and Ivana. Obsessing about the LB ??? I sing the "yippee you pooped normal" song around here lol. Have a good rest of the weekend.
