Let's see if Doodles can correct this silly AMPS. I deviated from my feeding schedule a bit the last few days by feeding after +6 because of his cute little face. We'll give him a few cycles and see what happens. Otherwise, good poop this morning and a happy cat!

That sounds like a perfect excuse to feed later in the cycle! Mandarin actually seems to follow the exact opposite logic: if I set an alarm to feed mid-way through the cycle (around 2 am), his AMPS is considerably lower. Not sure how that could ever make sense or if it's just a coincidence, but it makes me feel a bit better when my alarm goes off in the middle of the night.

My only theory is that Doodles is about 9 years old, larger than the average kitty and generally lazy/content and always has been so it takes longer for him to metabolize/use his food. Moo is 10lbs, eats more but has "ADD" and rarely sits still!

That does actually make sense! Mandarin is only 3 years old and very active and playful when he feels well. He is becoming more and more active now that he has lost some weight and now that his Glucose is under control. He's not as hungry anymore and doesn't eat huge meals (Walter finishes everyone else's as soon as they leave the bowl). So more frequent meals are what Mandarin needs... the struggle is keeping Walter away from all the food. He's older (9ish), more laid back and way more carb sensitive than Mandarin.

Keeping extra food away from the civvie cat who is older a wee bit overweight is an issue in my house too.

I see you gave a food bump. Come back down now Doodles. Max has always been a lazy kitty too. Tiffany was the playful one.

Edited after your comment. It could be a bounce.

NDW now that the depot is gone

NDW explains it is only relevant with an increase. A trend upward is a failed reduction but this is only 1 cycle so not thinking it's failed yet. Time will tell I guess. He did eat like a moose the last 2 days which is good but also could be a factor in the higher numbers. Another fine line juggle of what is enough and not enough food.

DH and I eat at the living room table while watching the news. Boomer starts with me and then goes to him and back and forth....doesn't matter whether we're feeding him or not lol
He also plays the "you're leaving me alone?" card quite often when I'm heading out the door and he'll stand there, rub up against me, shake his tail, then usually look at where he normally gets food, as if to say "well if you have the nerve to leave me you could at least leave me my auto feeder so I won't starve" lol

Much better # at +5 Doodles!!

That is my little Moo, she wants everything (her real name is Maggie but became Moo Moo because she eats everything!). Doodles has always been a good boy, wants to sniff the food but never ate anything except for a small piece of cold cut ham.

Shop is open today so I'm in and out....the sad little face today is killing me...."but mom, why are you leaving me again"...sigh

PMPS 115...we'll give him a few more cycles as this one was just really weird but it's looking like we need to go back to 1u.
