Young Again the Problem ?

As with my earlier post Dashers bg is once again high, last night he was at 147. Today I checked Blitzen and he was at 95 , that's high for his normal readings, I'm starting to suspect the YAZC .
What are the chances that both cats eating the same diet going out of remission pretty much the same time. Yes I know Blitzen is still in the green but this walk seems all to familiar , this is how Dasher started out last week.
Dasher will be going to the vet tomorrow to be checked out.
I did call the Young Again company and am waiting on a call from their nutritionist to see what changes they have made to their kibble and to see if anyone else has reported possible issues .
If either cat is out of remission and needs Lantus I do feel much better about doing all this again as I have a general idea of what to do and expect.
 
After speaking with the man at Young Again I'm feeling pretty confident it's not the problem .
He was so nice explaining nutrition and the 2 to 1 proitine to fat ratio. I was surprised to read the back of the FF label and to see its 11% proitine and only 2% fat and according to him that's way off . We discussed a new feeding plan and I will give it a shot before I run back to the vet , paws crossed it works.
 
Is the 2:1 ratio for weight or % calories?
A gram of carbohydrates has 4 calories, a gram of protein has 4 calories, and a gram of fat has 9 calories.

I thought the FF Classic was a well balanced food for my guys , however the protein is 11% and fat 2% . The guy at YA said it needs to be the 2;1 ratio, I'm not sure Larry.
I don't know what I should be doing at this point. He suggested I measure 1/3 cup for each cat and split one can if FF per day between the two and the bg numbers should improve, he thinks their not getting enough fat and too much protein .
I rescheduled Daskers vet for next Monday thinking I should see if what he said works. I don't know and now I'm just getting frustrated in not knowing what I should do.
 
Larry , both my cats have been in remission for over a year and now suddenly one gas a bg of 147 as of last night and the other is at 95. I know the 95 is a normal range but he's doing what the other one did....going up each day. I gave to believe it's diet related since their both having a rise in numbers.
Do you have any ideas? They both eat FF clasic with a few tbl of YAZC throughout the day.

That guy at YA is a sales rep for their food.
They have the fat that high in their food because (a) its cheaper than protein sources and (b) it keeps the cat fuller so they eat less. As long as the fat is replaced with protein and not carbs, the other foods are fine for a diabetic.

The only way to know if the YA is the cause for the rise in the BGs is to remove it from their diet for a while, same with the FF.
