Happy Monday L&LL, it's another 35 degree start here in Phoenix - eek! . This mornings AMPS is the lowest on his current dose. He's guarding his new toy, chasing civie Moo, , even jumping up and down on the furniture trying to get her. We use to call it the Doodle & Moo show and glad to see it back. When he's this active first thing in the morning it usually means his cycle is going to be pretty active too. Doodles 12/27

Time to check on all the kitties and a few errands today. Shop is closed on Mondays so all chores get done today...fun fun. Hope everyone has a good day:D

Sounds like Doodles is feeling good today - yay! I meant to mention this a few days ago...I'm so glad your shop did well through the holidays! What sort of shop do you have? We've always noticed a trend at our place...the closer we get to Christmas, the slower we get - but a day or so before Christmas we would get a lot of husbands coming in for last-minute gift certificates for their wives! However, since we're closing in a few weeks, we didn't sell GCs this year...

Have a great day!!

This is only our second season (open from Oct.1 - May 31st). We're a licensed Federal Firearms Dealer & Ammunition re-manufacturer. DH is a retired Sherriff & Bomb Squad Commander from NJ and it's what he knows. He did nothing for 5 years after retirement so it was time to do "something". A controversial subject but here in AZ there are a ton of shooting clubs and a very popular sport. My projection was a 30% growth but in Dec we grew 400% from last year! I use to work in Manhattan 2 weeks a month managing an engineering software team but resigned when Doodles got the diabetes dx. Needless to say DH has been begging me to quite that job for years so if anything "good" came out of the dx....he's happy about me being home (ugh, what an adjustment lol)

@ +5 for Doodles second meal DH did not follow the "no noise" rule during feeding times....urgggg:mad::mad:. Not only did he get spooked and take off mid eating but sure that also caused a bit of a spike for the +7.

Ha, I always thought that I'm the only person that follows a "no noise" (and, quite honestly, a "no movement") rule during feeding time. Mandarin gets spooked very easily and I have started to basically freeze in place when he starts eating. Not a big deal when I'm just standing around, but it sucks if he decides to take his first bite as I'm leaning over the litter box to clean it.

No noise, no moving...nothing but Doodle eating time....mommy's not happy. I have to sit with him, talk sweetly, mix the food several times and even sing the Doodle song with some scritches. If feeding time was ever recorded and hit the internet people would surely put me in the "funny farm" soon ;)

Oh my on the no noise no movement while eating rule. My remaining two came into my house joining six others. And a big ol' clumsy brown dog. Cats ate on the laundry counter, walking over, under, around, through each other as they changed plates. Dog danced down the hallway be-bopping around in excitement. Food time was chaos. I can't imagine "no noise, no movement."

Hey, Doodles. Looking good. Keep it going.

LOL--I am so glad it is not just me!! My bf doesn't dare make a movement when 1 of the boys is eating--he learned very fast when he got the "look" from me if he moved--he makes sure I am not tending to my sugar cat before he walks in the door in case testing/giving sq/feeding/adequan shot-poor guy !
When I had dogs and cats they ate with stuff going on but I think the cat only home gets used to that quiet time.

Luckily, the "no noise, no movement" rule only applies to Mandarin - my dogs will eat anything at any time and in any given place. I would rush them to the vet immediately if they ever refused a meal. :p ...and despite Brake-fast bowls and kongs in bowls, they can finish their food in less than a minute.

I love DH to death but needless to say it's been "silent" around here today after that.

He's been skiddish since I got him at 3 months from the rescue. Apparently he was abandoned in a box and left under a bridge (that's what they told me). We've always wondered what may have happened. It's my fault he's a mama's boy and I'm his only human but tolerates DH.
