Yesterday's post

We have a red alert  Ivana does not go red very often at all. We did take the skinny off her dose last night, could this be NDW? Or could it still be stress from going to the pet-sitter's yesterday? (Not sure how long stress-induced rises last for.) In any case, I'm not real happy with today's start, I guess it can only get better.

NDW only happens on the way up, pet sitter visiting stress should be long gone but it is possible she's on to you going away and stressing about that. I'm not sure why you took the s off though. Some cats are super sensitive to small changes so that could be your culprit. Of course it could also be that she's just being at cat or something she ate at yesterday's party - I heard she jumped out of a cake in the wee small hours so maybe she nibbled on it on the way out...

She had 6 cycles with no hint of a green (I'm not counting the 3 hrs right after her low on 9th when she was still on the way up from that). The 1.25s didn't appear to be enough for her, so I increased very slightly to 1.25. Should I not have done that?

Sorry, not enough coffee I was thinking you'd shaved a little off rather than added a little on. So ignore my suggestion that it can't be NDW too :confused:o_O

Julie & Punkin reminded me of this bullet in the TR Sticky. Hopefully the little fatting of the current does will work. No advise, just reposting...and she did go scary low with that 20 on 12/5.

If an attempted reduction fails, go right back up to the last good dose as soon as you see kitty's numbers trending upwards. You don't have to hold the reduced dose for a certain number of cycles before taking the dose right back up. The guidelines listed under the topic "Increasing the dose" do not apply to a failed reduction.

I just can't figure out where she cleared the bounce from that 29. Was it really just to the 113 two days later? It looks like that's the only possibility - you test basically around the clock and there just isn't anything obvious that screams "bounce clearing here." I would've expected a green nadir somewhere in there after the dose reduction. I'm scratching my head about it.

Hopefully that little bit extra will do the trick and bring her back down without getting too low.

Julie I've been scratching my head for months! I have had several people tell me that Ivana appears to be quite unpredictable and doesn't seem to follow the same patterns as other kitties (based on her ss). I don't know why - if it's just her, or if it's something we can do better... I've got no clue. She was doing so well between 28th Nov and 9th Dec with a fabulous run of greens and blues, and then somehow lost her way after that 29. We seem to be just reacting to what she's doing, rather than steering her towards remission, which is frustrating. I'd even be happy for regulation without remission at this point!

In hindsight, I should have taken her up to the full dose earlier. To be honest though, based on how she'd been doing lately I was fully expecting her to clear the bounce with a green, and didn't realise that the blue was all I was going to get while still hanging out for a green. Can't win 'em all I suppose.

Please use common sense in this situation. The "last good dose" is not the dose that just dropped kitty into the 20s or 30s. You want to resume momentum by finding a dose in-between the dose that dropped kitty too low and the reduced dose."

I would've waited based on that scary 29 so think you're doing the right thing by being cautious.

Fingers crossed this dose will do it, otherwise I can go up to 1.25f and still be below the dose that dropped her too low.

Haha yes it's my favourite photo of her, she's so photogenic :cat:

Looks like the extra few drops of juice is doing something, she was yellow at PMPS. Still far from ideal, but at least she's on the downward run.

Maybe she is a distant cousin to Drevon…. increased his dose tonight and his numbers went up….who knew?
Maybe tomorrow:D:D:D:D

We've nearly reached blue! Although it looks like I may need to set the alarm tonight, we'll see what the before-bed test at around +4 tell.
