Ketones/excessive urination

Squallie has always tested negative for ketones (thank heavens!) but I notice lately the color of the test stick never gets as dark as the colored block for negative on the bottle. Is this a good thing, I hope, or is it indicative of some other problem? Anybody have any ideas? Also, even when his numbers are staying pretty consistently low, he still pees A LOT. He'll spend a very long time in the box, peeing, so much so that the absorbent litter can't absorb it all and he makes a big "lake" in the center of the spot he's using. I guess he must still be drinking a lot, but I never see it - before he was diagnosed he almost never left the water bowl, now I don't even see him go near it.

Any input is always greatly appreciated, thank you!

Lucy

The recent high ~200-400 PS BGs can cause excessive urination.
How are his lab values for kidney function? Like urine specific gravity and BUN and creatitine values.
Not sure about the lab values, I know last time he was tested, about 2 months ago, his vet said everything looked pretty good. I will try to find the copies he gave me and post the numbers.

I don't have any answers but I just wanted to say hi Lucy and Squallie! I've been traveling lately and haven't kept up as much on the board. Squallie, I hope you've been behaving for your mama bean! :):bighug:
