Nope, no symptoms. She has been as low as LO (<20) and not shown any symptoms other than being hungry. I hate the waiting part between tests, ergh.

Has it now been 1/2 hour since that 29? Some kitties take a little longer to get the carbs into the blood stream. I think I'd try just HC and see how it does.

Hmm... How much HC are you giving? I give 2 tsp of 20% carb each time I prop her up. Perhaps give a bit more of just HC and test in another 15.

I have generally only given 1t at a time, can't remember who told me/where I read that. This one is a 23%, I have a couple of others that I use for HC and all are over 20%.

Gotcha. I started with 1tsp in the beginning and noticed it didn't help much. The 2tsp is what seems to help boost kitty up a bit more, at least for us, so I was just wondering. :)

+8 is 2.7 / 49. It's showing as dark green on my world ss, but still light green on the US ss. I'm going to take it as being ok, and not give her any more HC right now and retest in 15 to make sure she's still rising. Does that sounds ok @Wendy&Neko and @missMeows?

Ok so 15min later, and she hasn't dropped... but she hasn't risen either. Still 2.7 / 49. I'm leaning towards just leaving her alone and testing again in 15, I'm scared of too much HC causing a massive bounce. And she's not in danger at this number. But if she drops again, she'll be getting carbed!

Hmmm... That is the dilemma. Having been there myself I would say sit tight and test again in 15. Like Wendy said, sometimes it takes a bit longer for the carbs to kick in.

Thanks Sarah, I'm fine :-) Ivana has had a fair few low dives in the few months she's been diagnosed, so I no longer panic (which is handy, because it's hard to do a test when you're shaking!).

Hey I notice your signature says you're in Australia - whereabouts are you? I'm on the Central Coast of NSW, about an hour north of Sydney.

She's now at 3.3 / 59, so I'm going to leave it 30min and test again, just to make sure she's not going to do anything silly.
Great job Tara! I'm gonna go catch a few zzzz's before I gotta test Miss Meows in 1.5 hours. But I'll check on you then. You should be in the clear but a 30 minute test is a good idea :)

Up until very recently, I would still shake when giving shots. I would shake while just holding the syringe if I knew I was the one who had to give the shot. Thank goodness for hubby doing that part of the dance!

We're at +9.25 and Ivana is at 2.6 / 47. I know that technically I should give some more HC, but given where she is in the cycle, she's unlikely to go lower, right? Should I wait and see in another 15min? Or just give the HC anyway?

Wow, she's being pretty stubborn huh? Keep doing what you're doing with the HC. Maybe try with 2tsp? We definitely want to get her above 50.

It's getting pretty late in her cycle that I'm not sure what you should do for PMPS. If I were you, I'd post asking for advice a little before shoot time to see what the other more experienced members have to say.

Stubburn is right! She has tended to nadir pretty late in the cycle lately, but I was expecting a bit of a bounce to have started by now after that low. She's due for her PM shot in 1.75hrs, will see how she's travelling a bit closer to the time. Very glad I'm going to be home for this one and not leaving it to hubby, he would stress out about this!

I'm glad your able to be around to! Once you get the hang of this dance you'll be teaching hubby how it handle it all no problem. I've had to walk fiancé through this before while at work. He now thinks he's a pro ;)

I generally give Vyktor 2 flat tsp of HC for low 40s + syrup for the 30s.

It doesn't matter where in the cycle it falls you really want to feed those 40s, if it's past nadir and the insulin is wearing off LC might do it but you don't want to get complacent about them.

@Vyktors Mum - Thanks for popping in Serryn. Would you mind keeping an eye on Tara and Ivana? It's getting pretty late over here but I didn't wanna leave her on her own, just in case. Plus I feel this is getting a little out of my "expertise".

My 1t is heaped, but it looks like I should increase that for future episodes. Will switch to 2t flat, as the 1t heaped hasn't been doing that much today.

Next test in 5mins, fingers crossed she's behaving!

Only of you're sure. I'll stick around for the next test results though (this is pretty riveting!). Don't hesitate to use the 911 if you need assistance right away. Especially for what to do with shooting tonight. Best of luck tonight!
